| Post subject: Freelance VBA/Excel programmer based in Shanghai |
If you always feel frustrated by repeating, dreay & time-
consuming
jobs in Excel, such as:
- to transform worksheets of one certain format into
another format
(monthly, weekly or even daily); or
- to compare data scattered in different
worksheets/workbooks and
generate a report as the conclusion, etc, etc,......
All in all, any repeating job ( with some inherent logic
either
discernible or barely palpable ) can be automated by a
program that is
tailored for your specific application.
Try me! I'm specialist in developing customized VBA/Excel
programs
that can be installed in your MS Excel. I'm based in
Shanghai, China

If you know how to set up things like these in Excel you should know how to create reports etc using Pivot Tables etc. |

Another thing you should think about doing, Michael, is to make Camtasia Videos of the stuff you do as a showcase.
With technologies like this the need for someone teaching them most stuff at their office is simply gone.
Get some inspiration from Lynda.com and then download a demo version of Techsmith's Camtasia. Prepare a bunch of videos of what you do, focusing on the "before" and "after". Use these videos as your "business card": send them over to people that might be interested. And then suddenly you will have a little mouth to mouth going and a high quality platform to showcase your talent. And again, the number of opportunities in rentacoder and elance are HUGE!
I used to do a lot of VBA myself, it came a long way since the earliest version of excel. The amount of time you can save organizations is very high, so, quantifying the benefits of your job shouldnt be difficult.
Another software that comes to mind is Monarch: easily transforms reports from legacy systems to spreadsheets, and then you can play your magic. Heard about it?
Good luck and keep in touch.
