bbd101, we understand your concerns, and this is exactly what we don't want NextStep to become. NextStep is designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. NextStep is looking to build a community around entrepreneurs that meets on a frequent basis. Our first event on March 6th, as mentioned before, had a great turn out of well over 100 business savvy individuals. Our second event will be held on Tuesday, March 20th from 8 til 10pm at the 789 Bar on the 65th floor of the Le Meridien Hotel near People's Square. I suggest you come and check it out for yourself.

Hello, I am a student in business at the Shanghai University, and I'd like to meet some professionnals who can discuss with me about their experience, because i want open my own business, why not in Shanghai...
The thing is that i have no project yet, do a young curious student like me has his place in this kind of event? |

Thats a wonderful idea and I hope there will be many women entrepreneurs too!! I have a factory near SH and shuttle in and out of China... cannot bear to live there after trying...Its a struggle sometimes in a foreign country, nothing compared to the simple mode of operations and regulations that we have back on home ground. Meeting entrepreneurs from different fields will be very interesting and useful.

Babychirs44, NextStep Tuesdays is designed for any level of entrepreneur, and those thinking about getting started are 100% encouraged to participate. NextStep is a great venue to learn from others.

Tuesday, April 3rd from 8 til 10 pm will be the next NextStep Tuesday event at the Le Meridien's 789 Nanjing Lu Bar (789 Nanjing Road East, near the intersection with XiZang Road, People's Square). NextStep is focused on bringing together Shanghai's entrepreneurs to create a dynamic community. The event is for everyone interested in starting or is already involved in doing business. Yes, we are still active. We had another successful event last night, April 3rd. Our next event will be held on Tuesday, April 17th from 8 til 10 pm at Le Meridien Hotel's 789 Bar. ( 789 Nanjing East Road, near People's Square).

Hi,
I am interested in starting a food/business here in Shanghai. However, I don't really know where to sart in terms of regulations, laws etc.
Is your meeting the kind of meeting that I might be able to talk with others about this or is it more about opening a business in general or about being an entrepreneur?

The NextStep event is a perfect place to take the first steps in learning about doing business here in Shanghai. Many of the attendees have already opened their own businesses here in Shanghai. Hi Guys,
I wasn't able to attend at Le Meridien tonite, but would like to know how it went, and if another session is planned for two weeks from now?
I'm an entertainer with a unique service and my own new business. I'm at the point where I probably wouldn't benefit much from comments from biz lay people, but could benefit tremendously from experienced entrepreneurs, especially in the areas of wooing investment and marketing partnership. I'm known in town as The Rapping Professor, have been featured in SH Daily, SH mag and appeared on TV etc. URL at www.rappingprofessor.com.
I compose and perform original songs and raps for private, corporate and conference events. Anyone who introduces me to a client who then uses my services gets a 10% 'finder's fee' as my way to say Same goes for introductions to potential investors or marketing partners for my business. Hello everyone,
Welcome back from the Golden Week Holiday!
NextStep will kick off its May events tomorrow, Tuesday, May 8th from 8 til 10 pm at the Favola Restaurant and Bar on the 8th floor of the Le Meridien Hotel. As always we will be enjoying great drink specials, a spectacular view, and of course the possibility of making some excellent contacts. Past events have brought about several business collaborations already in the works. We will be telling you more about that in our official newsletter set to launch later next week.
