Post subject: My Two Year Old Nephew Visiting

Hey, where can I take my two year old nephew visiting from the US? I want to find a safe, clean indoor playground/playhouse for him? Would prefer an English speaking environment...

My daughter is at Stars and Stripes in the 4 year old class. We love it! Small classes, big playground, indoor play area and great teachers. Last Sunday they had a party for the kids to celebrate Lantern Festival, which the families all enjoyed. I like that type of family atmosphere.

Yes, it is a great school - they have good premises, wonderful teachers - and the Principal is just great ! She has "story time" on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Saturdays at Bubbas I think, she reads out stories - the kids just love it. The story time is free - no payment.
The school is on ying bin no. 3 road, near Hong qiao road - their phone number is 62683957 - you can call them for more details.
Their website is :

not sure if I understood IAmNotYao right but I thought he was looking for some place to take a "visiting" toddler... most kindergartens enrol children for a full term or more... if this nephew only visits him for a week or so it would certainly be not worth the money to enrol him in a kindergarten.

The aquarium is supposed to be very good - I haven't been there myself yet but I plan to do it with my 2-year old soon.
The zoo might be good, too.
There's a large indoor playground with ball castle in the Central Residences (is that the correct name?) - it's off HuaShan Lu (between Xingguo Lu and Fuxing Lu) in a small alley. They used to charge 20RMB entry fee per kid - last time after renovation they told me that they would only accept club members and they allowed me & my kid to enter for 30 RMB anyway. So if you know someone being a clubmember or if you can persuade them to allow you in, it's a great place for kids.

Other places (that you also might enjoy) are:
- O'Malleys: they have some slides and swings... and you can have a drink
- Ruijin Guesthouse, e.g. Face bar: my son usually plays football on the lawn (but now it's a bit too cold & wet).

I went to "Fun Dazzle" at ZhongShan Park today - it's a large indoor playground with a maze, slides, trampoline, soft mats etc... my 2-year old enjoyed it a lot although it was a bit chilly and overcrowded. Entrance fee is 30RMB, I recommend bringing warm socks & a warm jumper.
