We (Wife and I) are looking to head out of SH for 2-3 weeks for some quiet relaxation and sunshine. We are on a tight budget. Thinking about Thailand or Vietnam. Any recommendations or suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks very much.

Vietnam is very cheap even compared to China. We went to Hanoi last year and spent less than 10.000,- RMB for a 1 week holiday including everything , we actually went out for dinner every single night and not the cheap restaurants. We also had 6 day trips and one weekend trip, which is also included in the total cost.
