| Post subject: Up you go, Mr. Jackpot @ British Bulldog Quiz, Wed. Nov 21st |
A couple of teams threatened the old fellow's dignity by getting two out of the three required correct answers last week, but he just squeaked by to grow yet another week older (and plumper).
So, will someone knock him over this Wednesday and make off with the optional post-quiz cash jackpot? Time will tell.
How would you have gone? Here are last week's questions (the answers are at the end of this post):
Jackpot Questions:
1. According to the CIA World Fact Book (November 2007 edition), Saudi Arabia is the largest oil producer in the world. Which country is the second largest producer?
2. Which British author wrote "A Clockwork Orange"?
3. What's the capital city of Georgia (the country, not the U.S. state)?
It's a new week and a brand-new quiz, so why not get a few folks together and get on down to the 'Dog this Wednesday night - give it a shot at Shanghai's longest-running and least technically-challenged pub quiz.
Don't have a team yet? No problem. Just turn up on the night and we'll find you a team to join. No matter what your subject specialty might happen to be, one of our teams will welcome your help.
Want to know the quiz questions in advance?
Well, now that you mention it, everyone who's signed up for the British Bulldog Pub e-mail newsletter DOES receive two of the actual quiz night questions in advance!
That’s a couple of potential points right there for our loyal quiz-goers!
To sign up for the newsletter and get this special advantage, visit the British Bulldog Pub web-site:
http://www.britishbulldogpub.com/join-our-mailing-list.html
If you're interested in competing on Wednesday night, get your team (up to 6 players) ready.
Then let Lance know you're entering and to reserve your table by e-mailing Lance@britishbulldogpub.com, calling 64667878 or simply by registering at the bar the next time you’re in.
The British Bulldog Pub is on Wullumuqi Lu, near Dong Ping Lu.
Last week's Jackpot Q answers:
Answers:
1. Russia*
2. Anthony Burgess
3. Tblisi
* The top 5 oil producers (all 2005 estimates):
1. Saudi Arabia 9,475,000
2. Russia 9,400,000
3. United States 7,610,000
4. Iran 3,979,000
5. China 3,631,000
See ya at the 'Dog! |

Thanks for the info, Ms. Mags.
BTW - When are you coming back to do the quiz, eh?
I know you were in this vicinity awhile back, but we weren't favoured with your presence. Maybe next time. |
