Post subject: Buy discrete clothes in shanghai and ralph lauren clothes ??

Hi everybody,

i am looking for severals months where i can buy some nice discrete and elegant clothes in Shanghai not at luxury prices....

I mean for example: nice black sweaters with no stripes or chinese stuff like this. Leather suede shoes chocolate color or black, something very simple with also no stripes and others stuff ...

I found some nice on but the price is arround 3500 - 4000 rmb.. even the same for the clothes ... (Polo, sweaters)...

My second question: Dp you know where is it possible to buy genuine Ralph Lauren and armani jeans clothes in Shanghai ? ( Factory outlets for example).
Even in Shanghai i order my Rl clothes on internet in the us because it is cheaper. So do you know a shop were this brand is not too expensive ?

So if you have any adress thanks for sharing Wink

Have a nice day and take care. Smile

For elegant clothes you can try Zara. More expensive than the Chinese stores but definitely not 3500-4000.

For Ralp Lauren you can try Fox Town outlet. I don't know if they have genuine RL stuff but they have branded clothes.

Good luck

There are quite a few places just on Nanjing road-
Giordano (opposite number 580, closer to People's square than the Bund) is cheap with very simple, minimal designs, Uniqlo is similar and is further East, at the end of the section where the miniature train runs up and down- on the second floor of a building with a camera shop on the first.
Muji (near the Starbucks at Nanjing Road West metro station) is a bit higher price than Uniqlo, but very similar in terms of design- they do a lot of homeware stuff as well as food, and there are branches of Benetton around if that's your thing.

I think there's a RL flagship store in Plaza 66, again on Nanjing road, near Jing-an temple.

Thanks Swiss-James i have been in Uniqlo... The quality is very poor i bought for 4000 rmb of clothes both damaged after few weeks....

I know the Ralph lauren shop. Prices are 15 % higher compare to europe and 40 % more than usa...

For armani if even dont calculate because for some items it is sometimes 100% more expensive compare to europe or usa !

Any other idea ?

Some are original over-runs, others are very good fakes. Hard to spot the difference.

How on earth do you can manage to
a) spend 4000RMB on clothes in Uniqlo
b) damage all of those clothes in a few weeks?!

Seems pretty clear to me though, the high-quality brands cost more here, but you won't accept any lesser brand or fakes. Something's got to give.

Lol you dont undestand my meaning.

I order all my clothes even in China on ebay USA. I have some good supplier who buy the clothes in Ralph lauren factory outlets in florida and who sell it after on internet.

So my meaning, maybe there is such shop in China. Somebody who sell the rl clothes or armani with discount.

For example on ebay i pay 500 rmb a ralph lauren polo, in rl shanghai store the price is 900 or more. In the shop in shanghai i cannot find the same...

So hope you undestand my meaning...

Concerning uniclo i bought some polo, shirt and few sweaters (4). What i can tell is compare to the price i prefer to continue to order my Ralph lauren clothes on internet. Uniclo is just 15% cheaper than buy brand name clothes on the web but the quality is 2 times bader !

On ebay 85 % are fakes. To recognize the original just need to know the good sellers.

erm... if you want you could just try harder. There is a lot of stuff out there taht westerners would consider crap... but mixed in that crap are a few things that are pretty decent. Just takes more time and effort. But if its cheap dont expect high quality.
