Am planning to go to Hainan Island with my family. My children are aged 12 and 9. Any recommendations on where I should stay? |

I am heading down to Sanya on Tuesday with my two boys. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Resort. This hotel has kids suites, a smaller connecting room for your kids. A little more room than your tradional hotel room. Have heard not much outside of the hotels, but will take a look around while there. Not too concerned, for 5 days who needs more than the beach and a great pool! Here is the link to the hotel if you want to take a look, lots of pictures! Good Luck, can't wait to hit the beach!! http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hotel/SYXSY/at-a-glance |

Just returned from Holiday Inn Resort Yalong Bay. Kids had a great time, pool was very kid friendly, two small water slides, basketball nets and large fountain. Beach was also nice, no charge for unbrellas or chairs on the beach which was a plus. Next door is a large touristy type area with paddle boats, jetski's, diving excursions avalable and numerous water tours. SOme tacky souvenir shops, snacks and beers!! Would recommend this location. It is about 30 minutes from the airport, and 120RMB in cab. |

check out www.sunnysanya.com They have family rooms for a fraction of the cost of other places. Includes breakfast. It's where we're staying! |

Just wondered if anyone could advise re Malaria on Hainan Island, we were advised by a travel clinic that Malignant P. falciparum (i.e the seriously bad form) is present on Hainan Island and would have to take anti malarias, any advise? |

We stayed at the Kempinski during the Mid Autumn Festival. The hotel is great as long as the weather holds as the beach is right outside and there are outdoor pools. Clean, comfortable rooms and the restaurants in the complex are pretty good. Excellent breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, we were there when the typhoon hit and we were limited activity wise as it is some way out town (near to the airport rather than Dadonghai). Fine choice if you just want a short breaj to laze by the pool and eat at the same two restaurants all the time but not the best location if you are planning to see a bit more of the local area during a longer stay. |
