Post subject: 'Only 2.2 pc Chinese women derive happiness from sex!'

Can't imagine why ...

Quote:
Only 2.2 pc Chinese women derive happiness from sex!

Asia Pacific News.Net
Thursday 29th March, 2007 (ANI)

Beijing, Mar 28 : Only about 2.2 percent of women in China consider sex as the most valuable factor to make them happy, a recent survey has found. About 22.5 percent of the women surveyed prioritized love as the big happiness maker, because the word 'sex' was still considered as a taboo.

Notably, the factor of "self-fulfillment" ranked highest for the Chinese women to make them happy, as more than 60 percent of the respondents voted for it.

Citing a reason for a low percentage of women linking their happiness to sex, a leading sexologist in the country said that traditionally the word 'sex' carried negative meanings. "The word was stereotyped with negative meanings. A good woman should not like sex. Love is a beautiful word," said Li Yinhe, a noted sexologist and professor at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

"But, power, money and sex all represent the negative things. It (power) shows big progress. More and more women want to achieve their life value, which eclipses the importance of the private life for women. When women start to value self fulfillment, they become more equal to men," the China Daily quoted her as saying.

She added: "The high marks for self -fulfillment are inspiring and encouraging."

The survey was conducted by the Yueji.Self, a Chinese-language magazine jointly launched this month by the Chinese-language Women of China magazine and the New York-based magazine publisher "Conde Nast Publications".

According to the paper, in China the traditional mindset is that men live for their careers and women live for love.

The fact that only about 22.5 percent surveyed prioritized love as the big happiness maker demonstrated that love was no longer the most important factor for a woman to be happy in China. This is perhaps reflected in the growing trend that many Chinese women were opting to remain single.

The survey was the first of its kind to be carried out in 15 cities on the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan province.

No wonder, really, whoring appears so prevalent in China. If emotional and physical satisfaction is lacking, then why not make a few kaui from the ordeal?

So, what does the above bode for the future?

1. The market for battery operated sex toys will continue to rise.

2. Gigolos will have more massage parlours, and their own barbershops.

3. The Ho-Drain to foreign markets will increase.

In general I noticed Sex is not high priority here. Money, health, family are.

We are not sex crazy people, therefore less pedophiles, probably less incident of rape, not likely to have the stories of female teachers having sex with students, or priests with alter boys. That’s actually a good part of our culture. Think about if all 1.3 billions were sex crazy, what would be like for China. Our ancient teaching, told us never to engross a life into too much food, clothing and sex.

However, it does not mean people are not enjoying sex, only many are shy to acknowledge it.

In my view, it’s contradictory in the western culture, on one side encouraging it in the mass media, and on the other side, the Christian purism. To many, it got to be tough to live a life of two faces.

well, with all teh revolutions and such, China's population has ended up with teh least common denominator in many cases. maybe those who were strong in testasterone were hacked up by the previous dynasties, wars,or the cultural revolotion that now many males are far less masculine than they should be?

Bluebag- rape is about power not about how endowed a rapist is. Your comment was not funny. Andreas, you should know better considering...

Sorry Yu, but I was just responding in kind to theAutumn45's equally spurious generalisations.

God knows I've seen plenty of rapes reported in the papers here, so I don't know what she's talking about - especially as I would guess the under/non reporting of rape in China would have to be at close to western 19th century levels.

Anyway - every nation has its own internationally-perceived inadequacies - where I'm from, we're not figured to have 5000 years of culture, for example.

Edited for: Another of our weaknesses seems to be spelling. "percieved" fixed.

There is also a lot of domestic violence here. The other day I was walking near Huashan Lu down a quiet-ish street and I heard this screaming coming from this apartment somewhere maybe on the 6th or 7th floor. I stopped to check out what it was and realised it was a woman screaming and sounded like she was being beaten. As I was standing there a security guard came over to see why i was there - then he could hear it too. I said to him to call the police and he said he didn't understand. I said 119 and he said he didn't understand and laughed. By now quite a crowd had gathered and at that point shiit started being thrown out the window - pots, pans, a rice cooker, shiit like that. The stuff was hitting cars and setting off alarms and still the fcking ******* security guard wouldn't call the cops. Waste of time me doing it as I had no idea how to give directions to the building. Luckily, there was a young bloke beside me with his girl and he told me in English that he had called the cops.

Once I knew that the cops were on there way I left - no point in hanging around for entertainment value like the rest of the crowd.

I hope the security guard loses his job but I very much doubt if that will happen. What an arsehole.

My wife is Chinese and in her mid thirties. Of all the lady friends she has, about half of them had been sexually abused as a kid. Usually by fathers, uncles, older brothers etc. And those are only the ones that talked about it.
Just like with domestic violence, there is a lot happening which does not get outside. I think that it has to do with the culture, but I would not want to go that far to say that it is a good aspect of the culture.

Intriguing analysis, autumn, and worthy of further discussion.

Are you implying that the 2.2% of Chinese women who do enjoy sex are sex crazy? And that if the softcocks could reduce that 2.2% to 0%, then China would have no sexual violence?

Autumn there are many cases of Chinese teachers sexually abusing their students. Or even killing them. These often get reported but no-one pays it much heed.

When I pointed out the disparity between male and female demographics in China to a Chinese guy and it's the effects it will have 20 years from now he replied that if a man can't find a wife he could just go out and rape a girl. He wasn't smiling when he said this and i doubt if he understands sarcasm.

Bluebag, Andreas - regarding your first posts, shame on you two. Even if one does have quality hardware, that doesn't mean the software will perform as desired. It's important that the drivers have brains, too, in order to make everything come together. Couple that with an asynchronous feedback loop with the intended port, and you have a smooth computing environment.

In the China configuration, with a failure rate of 97.8%, upgrading hardware alone won't solve the problem. The OS and applications need to be replaced, rewritten. 5,000 years of code needs to be chucked!

HammerForLife, ignore her. That's how she works. If I can get a certain greasemonkey script to work... it'd work wonders here! but then I'd probably be banned.
