Just had lunch at momochacha again and guess what... all the dishes, minus 5 out of 10 points. I wonder if they just changed the chef but its a lot blander than the last time I had and the Hor Fun was not as nice smelling anymore. Well, maybe they are modifying to cater to local needs since foreigners constitute only about 25% of their customers.

-5/10? Wow. Guess I'll give the next visit there a skip.

I really wonder why they do that. The taste was sooooo authentic the last time.

Haha, only save 30RMB lah... nothing much. Smile Anyways, were you at yesterdays Frankie's Place meetup? I heard about 600 confirmed going so far... looks like a big event. Do you frequent SSBA activities?

No....I suppose to go but feel sian sian, so i did not go.

You might have met KIM HWEE there.

I had attended Suzhou 2006 ND Dinner, they have 40+ tables that time, so I am not surprice that for this year, it can easily reached 600+ ppls.

So you are going, right ?

Hope to see you there.

Oh yes, In fact, I sat with Kim Hwee. I am trying to ask Steven to make this gathering something of a monthly thing so I hope to see you one day too. About the NDP thing, I am not too sure if I will be in Shanghai then... I'll see how it goes. If I'm there just for makan, than maybe not cos I may be giving a talk somewhere else. If I am needed for other things, then yes, for our GREAT NATION, I will push my work committment aside.

Actually, in Shanghai, Singaporeans Malaysians Indonesians are all the same. We are such a small community here but share so much in common in terms of culture and food.

Vincent, we used to have a regular meetup group but since our leader, Ash Moreal (the guy who started this thread) went back to Malaysia last year, it has been next to impossible to put something together.

I am not sure if SSBA would want to do the regular meetup thing I proposed... maybe I should drop Steven an email and volunteer to organise this since I am like semi retired and has much more free time than the SSBA exco guys.

Hi, Jason

I would prefer the gathering has nothing to do with some kind of "Association" or Singcham.

I had attended Singcham gathering in Beijing before and it is very much like business networking. Peoples who turn up are mostly in finance, insurance, investment and some local China executive that looking for business opportunities. You end up exchanged name card and very contact or almost no contact afterwhich. It is kind defeat the purpose of gatheing.

Maybe, next time, my kakis have small group makan gathering, I shall inform you to see if you want to join.

A small group of gathering for makan, talk-cock over kopi should be funs.

Hahaha you so wrong Vincent! Smile SSBA is not like that. Its ALL talk cock sing song and NO chinaman asking for business, I guarantee you. Smile Hey, I am in charge of organising it now so its going to be FUN! Smile
