Post subject: Electronic hobbyist / components shop in Shanghai?

I'm a Physcis teacher in Shanghai who's also teaching a bit of electronics now and then. Frequently I need the occasional electronic component - nothing amazing just the odd resisitor, transistor, etc ... the sort of thing you could get at maplin / radioshack. Does anyone know of such a store / mail order here in Shanghai - since waiting / paying for delivery from the UK is a nightmare.

Cheers if you can help

Ian

I used to work in a PCB loading facility in Australia and we used to occassionally get calls from teachers asking if we could spare a few components for projects. We were always happy to oblige with passives and low cost semi's like transistors. I suggest you get someone to talk to a local electronics company and see how they react. When you consider thatan SMT resistor cost a fraction of a cent they should be willing to help. Otherwise you could get some through RS Components who have a branch in Shanghai I think.

Nanjing Rd 666, 10 minutes walk from Peoples square.
If you have good knowledge of industry electronics (optoelectronics, cooling, PCB design) PM me I could use some part time engineer.
