Post subject: Bring pets into Shanghai via Guangzhou?

Has anyone flown from USA or Europe with a dog or cat into the country through Guangzhou or Hong Kong (cleared customs) and then transfered to a domestic flight to Shanghai- and avoided the Shanghai quarantine?

Good luck with that. I am trying to fly my dog back to the States but I got the dog in China so the situation is a bit different. The point is that it is so hard to find out about any regulations in China cos everywhere they tell you sth different.

I know that if your dog needs to stay in the quaranten in the States you need to pay for it so it will be probably the same here. Make sure the conditions they keep your dog in are good.

Which airline are you flying?

Thanks Magnif-
We will fly dog to LAX and then fly on China Southern or China Eastern into Guangzhou, clear customs and transfer to a domestic flight into Hongchou airport in Shanghai.

If you ship a pet during summer months, most airlines have a heat indenx embargo if the temp goes above 82 degrees F. Continental is the exception and will ship during the summer with special pet care handling.
