| Post subject: ?? on Expat-ing in SHG for Wives |
I have been offerred an opportunity to expat in Shanghai at a fairly high executive level for a MNC. It is very exciting for me, especially as an ABC, but am very concerned about lifestyle and ability to assimilate for my caucasian wife and 3 children, 8,6 and 7 months.
I would love to have input on the hardships and benefits of expating in Shanghai for non-working spouses and children. We would be there for 2 years.
We would surely be living in an expat community and sending our children to american schools. How have your children and wives/you taken to the experience and how is the support network?

People with similar situations bond very easy here, with just a minimal amount of effort you'll be happily suprised how many firends you can meet and how much help you can get. As Lola said, start reading the family and wives threads and just jump in! |
