Post subject: need an expierneced Ayi urgently!!!

I am living here for over a year in shanghai and have had a very difficult time finding a good aye. I have 2 children and having guest is regular in my home and i work. i went through much trouble and frustration until I finally found someone but she unfortunately works at someone else and feels she can't work 15 hours a day (works at me before and after the other and she told me today is her last day) i feel like i can't deal again with interviewing and trying and all the frustration that i went through in the past year with agencies.

if anyone knows of an aye in the Pudong area that knows a bit of English, has experience in a foreigner home and very important - is a pleasant person to be around pklease let me know. i am even ready to wait a month plus ! I am planning to be here for many years and I don't want to keep changing. I don't want a live in aye. The main job is for her is to keep my home clean and tidy (not to care for the children).
I am looking to pay between 1600- 1800- rmb for 6 days a week 8 hours a day.

If you have heard of someone please let me know.

Post subject: experienced ayi availiable, jin qiao/green city area

I am trying to find our ayi a new job in jin qiao/green city area, because we are leaving Shanghai in June.

She has done an excellent job handling all her responsibilities. Her main duties included: cleaning, laundry and ironing, dog-care, grocery/household supply shopping, coordinate household repairs with management office, stay overnight (to care for our dog) during our vacations.

She is very sweet, pleasant and dependable. She would be able to do some part-time work for you prior to our move from Shanghai.

In my experience, the best way to find an Ayi is through other Ayi's and neighbors, not agencies or those postings in the expat supermarkets. If you have a friend or neighbor who is happy with their Ayi, ask their Ayi if they have friends who are looking for a job. They usually do. This also serves as a reference, because someone is vouching for this new Ayi.

After going through 5 or 6 agency Ayis in less than a year, this is how I found the Ayi we have used for almost two years now. We just got a second part-time Ayi who is helping a neighbor also part-time, and she is doing OK so far.
