| Post subject: Visa question |
Hi,
I've been offered a part time job at a Government school (16hrs per week). They say that because i dont have 2years experience as a teacher they cant apply for a visa for me. Even though i have a TEFL certificate they say i still need 2 years experience. Therefore they say i have to do it myself.
1: should i definately get a z visa rather than an f visa?
2: Are they lieing? ie, could they actually get me a visa?
3: Should they give me money to help with my getting a visa (they have refused so far)
Thanks a lot! |

You must have a Z visa to legally live and work in China.
If you have a university degree, then the two year requirement doesn't count.
My guess is that they are unable to qualify for Z visas and want to place the burden upon you. But you won't be able to obtain the Z visa unless the company can apply for you. In fact, if the company is unwilling to provide documentation, you won't be able to get the F visa either.
To my way of thinking, the company should pay for the visa, including travel to obtain the Z visa if needed.
I would give serious consideration to this job. It sounds as though they are placing the burden on you without having to have a legal connection to you. |
