Post subject: Verbatim Dual Layer blank DVDS

I am looking for the above size 8.5 gig, I have not seen any at that size here but I know they are a good quality brand.

I recently purchased some Sony DVD+R DL discs and both burns failed on them and was informed Sony make pretty poor blank media, is there a specific shop here that carries a large range of DL blank media?

Cheers

Metro is your best choice for media, just remember that the media you can buy here are of lower quality than you're used to from back home!

I usually by the iMation brand (verbatim). No problems at all.

Well actually I usually use MagicISO or Alcohol and just leave things as .iso / .daa / .dmg's...

But if I do burn stuff, I use the imations.. Good enough and cheap.

Hey Dazza, if you manage to find a decent supplier can you post the details here (booth number for example)?

I need to buy some DL DVDs myself.

Also, wondering if anyone here would know how to discover if my DVD burner has lightscribe or not?

I have no idea.

I just bought some Banana brand DVD-R today for RMB58 / 10.
Ritek is decent enough.

Seemed to work ok - I just burnt C&C 3 - Kane edition, which installs, but sadly doesn't run at a nice speed on my P4 3.2Ghz 2G ram / PCI-E graphics card. Tomorrow I go try on the Dual Core box, and see how that runs. Its a bit ridiculous that specs for these games are more than my average pc. Sigh.
