Post subject: Riding the 4 Line

Stepping in through the doors, i have my ipod on with AC/DCs Thunderstruck about to play. I feel good, the weather is very nice, i have a nice new white shite on and some grey jeans.

Ahhhaaaanaaaahh ahhhnaaaanaaa ahhaaaaanaaanaaaahnaaaaa

It's not like i am paying much attention to anything. I am late for a coffee date and just want the train to start moving. My arm is stretched up to the cross bar and my body slouched over in my usual pose.

Along my back i feel a pair of breasts rub against my arm and back. Its deliberate. No doubt about it. I turn a bit hoping to see some Japanese AV star behind me, but it is a 65 year old women rushing past to stand near the door. And stare at me.

Hesus, i think to myself and i start to take some notice of the rest of the crew on this train.

This fifty five to sixty year old man, his eyes are closed and he is rotating his head around and around in circles. Not just once, he is going round and round and round and round and round. Full head twirls in some sort of what the fcuk has my life become spin. Who doesnt recognize it. He stops for a moment, and stares at me.

Beside him, another angry 28 year old triangle head. He looks angry, about what who knows, maybe its the guy on the other side of him but he isnt taking much notice. He just stares at me.

This other guy is also a 28 year old triangle head, it is my affectionate name for all the spiked crew cut chinese who look like their heads are an upside triangle with this sort of haircut. Anyway, his head is down in his hands, his clothes all army fatigues, and he is slouching over so that face is almost at his legs, wiping his eyes and crying. He looks up and stares at me.

Across from the solider, or whatever he is, is a university student, he has the head phone, the 80s wavy over gelled hair typing a text message in his phone and like the rest, staring at me.

They are all staring at me. And all i can think to myself is, am I the only fcuking spectacle on this train?

Wonderful days spent on the train. I have sold the Shanghai map on the Shanghai metro recently. 3 RMB per map. My boss, his name is Mr. Liu told me what to says. I says "D2" "D2", and they all love me. I dont know why, maybe they are all the Star Wars fans. Ponder. bye

I do feel you, CLM, is it in general that old people are getting anxious recently?

Mr. Liu approach me in Julu Road when i was entertaining with my friend "Candy". He is suchly a nice man, and a big Star War fan. I am in debit to him and the maps sell good too which is nice considering they are maps of Beijing. My next job, Mr. Liu has said is to be the person who hands out the cards on the train and at the station to people. Amazment, 5RMB for 8 hours! JOYFUL!

i was the only one staring

Okay Okay

RED ALERT.

NO ONE IS GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!

Back on Line 4 today, was heading out to Wai Gao Qiao to check on some goods. Its the usual crowd, packed in heading over to PuDong. I get to PuDong lu station or Dang Fang Rd or whatever it is. Off the train, up the escalator turn to mash into the crowd in order to swipe my card at the get and get out....

EXCEPT...

THERE IS NO Mosh pit of people. I almost thought i was in a dream. PEople were lined up on behind the other in a perfect queue formation, 3 rows heading up into 3 turnstyles. No pushing, no shoving, no chaos. And each line was about 30 metres long.

Fcuk i think i am going through reverse culture shock because the whole time i was thinking, why the heck do people have to line up like this, it is totally ineffcient.
