Post subject: PSB in JinQiao area

I contacted my lease office to apply Temporary residence permit for my family (wife and son). They are asking me to submit their original passport and pay the fee of 150 RMB (RMB 75 per person).

When I applied for my TRP from the hotel I stayed in, I never had to submit my passport, just gave them copy of the first page of my passport. Do we really need to show the original passport at the local police station?

Also please tell me the PSB in JinQiao, Pudong area where I can
file TRP for my family. I just want to save this 150 RMB.

Because of the possiblity of my Business travel to Australia I applied Australian visitor visa for my family just after they landed here at the Australian Embassy, Shanghai. Because of this I don't have their passport with me. I do have the copy of their passport including the immigration stamp got at the shanghai airport.

I need this TRP for them for their visa conversion in case my Australian Business trip gets cancelled.

Thanks for your help.

The rules vary slightly in every station -- in mine, you are required to give them 2 photocopies, plus a copy of the lease -- I agree 150rmb is absurd, though going yourself will be a time hog. What about offering to pay 75rmb and have them handle it? It's basically the same amount of travel and time whether they do one or two.

I suggest trying it, with the photocopies, and the receipt from the Australian consulate for their passports. At the very least, they'll note the attempt, and any fines might stop that day -- instead of continuing until the day you can submit the real passports.

Sorry, don't know the JinQiao location.
