Post subject: Sheshan

I need to get outta shanghai for the weekend but dont want to travel far.
I've done Hangzhou and Suzhou and am not interested in revisiting.
I have heard Sheshan is nice and only 30km way.
Can anyone recommend accom there apart from the Le meridan (not willing to pay so much).
I'd be happy just to stay in a hut in the national park Wink

sheshan is sooo close from shanghai, you don't need to stay over to go there. There is nothing much to see actually. I just went there for a day trip. It has like a national park and there is an old church up in the hill where u can do "via dolorosa" if you are a catholic. But besides that park, nothing much really. There is a small hotel near the park (i cant really recall the name) but i think its quite cheap. You can try to google it.

I dont know why you wanna go there.. the park was so so. I went there, the place itself was not that refreshing. You could go to Nanjing or Yangzhou instead?? Now train to Nanjing is only 2 hours... or zhouzhuang for 1 night??

Huangshan, I highly recommend you to go there, this is about a right time. I know it's out of your preference but for weekend getaway, it's trully worth it as I could see you seem to like outdoors
