I have two middle names - Josette after one grandmother and Marianne after the other grandmother's middle name (her first name is Gladys and my parents didn't want to give me that even as a middle name!!) |

Nothing wrong, but when I remember my mom calling me with a very strong german accent: Izabeliiiiiiiiiiiiiita...you can imagine!
actually Izabel sounds nicer than Iara (and easier), but I like to have an unique brazilian name.
It's an indian legend, that Iara was a mermaid in the Amazon river and when she sings, fishermen were dragged by the river...sad, but beautiful!
by the way, I wish at least I could swim! |

Annette. I hated it growing up because the only Annette I knew was an old lady who lived down the street. She was nice but every 5 minutes she would start a hacking cough that sounded like a lung was about to be expelled <<shiver>>. When I got married I ditched the name and now use my maiden name instead. |

Elizabeth after my grandmother.
Have shared the tradition with all pets in our family... all have the middle name Elizabeth. I don't think my grandmother appreciates the homage... |

I've got two...Andrew Denis
Andrew's alright with me but Denis is too close to Penis,
plus, the story behind that name goes like this:
My dad is a doctor (GP) but for some reason while I was being born he was delivering another baby,
the doctor that delivered me was a friend of the family, and...you guessed it, his name was Denis.
I always found that strange that my dad didn't deliver me! (he delivered both my brothers)
My parents divorced several years later, so it makes me think things were probably already falling apart at that point.
Anyways, I was stuck with a lame-ass second middle name (sorry if your name is Denis, but it's sucks.) |
