Trader Vic's has a great happy hour and tasty drinks. I like the decor. All in all a pretty classy place to sip on a tropical cocktail.

However...

I like their happy hour and decided to take some friends two weeks ago. It's listed everyday. We arrive, sit down, peruse the menu, and were about to order when I had the foresight to doublecheck. Sure enough no happy hour that evening. I asked why and was informed that there was a large group and that happy hour was suspended for the evening.

Fast forward to this afternoon. I was making plans for a wednesday after work session and decided to try again. Listed as everyday. Called first this time and sure enough no happy hour. Another large group has negated happy hour.

Seems pretty suspicious/shady that the last two times I have tried to go to Vic's for a happy hour drink there have been "large groups" or, alternatively, Vic's is extremely popular.

Either way I think it's a BS move by management to advertise a happy hour promotion EVERYDAY and then suspend/negate it at a moments notice because there is a large group booked.

oh yeah...the first time I talked to the manager on duty who basically said tough sh#$ and today the helpful receptionist suggested we go to Frankie's instead...
