yep
i had it on a plasma tv for a while, then had to switch to a regular hd-ready tv when i put the ps3 in a different room, but that was a corker, so i bought an lcd from skyworth for cheap money. you can absolutely tell the difference |

there is a demo out , which i have problems downloading from the shop via china , supposed to be awesome, but you cannot just download it from your pc or get the file from someone else.
the "real" game is due christmas, but given the delays with every GT , I would not expect it before next year |

Here's another question.
What's the difference between xbox 360 and PS3? Surely they're very similar. |

more games on xbox 360 at the moment, most games that come out on both systems are released on ps3 later ( but with extra content you had to download/buy for x360 already included : Rainbow Six Vegas for example or The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion ) .
GraphicsWise they are supposed to be very similar...
Soon , with more games for ps3 available , it's simply a question of whether you're a sony or a microsoft fan |

Well I got one, payed 4480RMB but the place had a lousy selection of games so I'm going to try and go find a better place this week, I'll check out the one you guys mentioned, I'd love to get rainbow six vegas and the darkness.
The shop is at Feng Yang Rd. No 678 near Nanjing Road, they may have to go somewhere to get you a console but the price was the best I've seen. Also if you want WII games they've got a great selection and they're 5RMB each. |

Get a 360. Seriously. Won't cost you nearly as much, has a larger library of games out right now, and will even have games like GTA and Devil May Cry when they release so the PS3 game "exclusives" have dwindled since the last generation.
PS3's graphics aren't any better than the 360's, and there won't be more games release for it than the 360 in the coming year. It will take a while for the PS3 to catch up. Give it some time before you buy.
I'd say only get the PS3 if you want to use the Blu-Ray HD DVD feature. But hey, where can you get HD DVD's in China? |

Actually I already have an Xbox 360, which I bought a year ago, but being such a sony freak, i really would like a PS3. At least there won't be any fighting in the house, some will play 360 others will play PS3...........jokes aside, I believe they are both very similar, however PS3 is Wi-Fi, bigger hard drive, more pwerful, hd-blu ray............anything more? |

Well technically PS3 has far better graphic potential than Xbox360, but so far developers have yet to take full advantage of this, probably because all the existing engines couldn't use the systems full potential, rumor has it that in the next year there will be a ton of games that were developed for PS3 exclusively so we'll see it in all it's glory then.
As for now if you've got a choice between XBox360 and PS3 and have to get one now I'd go XBox360 as well, theres more content with better graphics (because many existing PS3 games are just ports from PS2 or 360 games) and the online play is better. But even though Sony got off to a horrible start I'm thinking that another year will see PS3 far outstrapping 360 for content as the system simply has loads more capacity for advancement than the 360.
Microsoft rushed to market and threw all it's weight into buying up initial contracts from developers, but as gameing companies finish releasing the mass of games that microsoft commissioned for the 360 (much of it is total crap, but some is gold like Gears of War) they're going to start looking at PS3 for the next generation, and Microsoft is going to have to rush to release of Xbox720 or whatever they're next console is to be able to play these next gen titles that 360 is too weak to support. |

PS3 also has gyroscopic controllers and supports upto 7, don't know if this will ever come into play, but its interesting to think about
Oh also it's got more than twice the processing power of xbox360 which lets games get hyper realistic and game worlds to be truely massive, also it really scales up the amount of people that can be involved in say an online multiplayer deathmatch and how well the system can handle things like explosions and multiple npcs. |

I read a technical review that used the comparison between a Commodore 64 and a modern day PC, the PS3 is that far advanced of the 360.
As has already been said, i think it more comes down to whether you are a fan of Microsoft or Sony. On a games front, the PS3 was the most supported of any console released and unlike Microsoft, the Sony games network is free. |

Oh also the controllers use bluetooth 2.0 which has 3Mbs of bandwidth, which is way more than any existing controller needs, which probably means there's gonna be some really cool input devices down the road |

Ok got back from HK with my new PS3, paid HK$3780 for the 60gb one, which is RMB3670, plus I bought a game, smash hit tennis for RMB357.........The only downside with the HK machine is that it won't play blu-ray discs from Europe. |

Yeah I know, and that's why I wasn't that concerned about it. need to hook it up tonight. Couple more questions though.
1. can it record tv onto the hard drive
2. if my plasma has the av component with the blu colour (sorry dont know how to explain it), is it HD ready or what? |

isn't the ps3 the george foreman grill look-a-likey?
the 360's have a nasty habit of failing quite quickly (so I heard).
I have neither - I love my PSP instead hehe. |

rocco i am not so sure about the av component, but in order to get the best results out of it , you will need the hdmi connection on your tv.
and as far as i know you cannot record on your hard drive ( but that's probably only a matter of time )
check gaming websites, there are all sorts of nerds out there that can tell you how to run msn messenger and stuff |

Sham Shui Po would be a good place to go get it in HK. Look for the Golden Dragon Arcade Exit, the consoles are on the second floor. Theres a McD's nearby after you've shopped, which is handy. Although you are never farther than 500metres from a McD's in HK on the Island side haha.
I would just buy it here though, prices are about the same. |
