Post subject: Current weather conditions in Shanghai

Hi guys, I will in Shanghai from next week for work as well as leisure. Was looking up on weather reports for Shanghai and was kinda worried when certain reports warned of flooding in shanghai during this curent monsoon season.

I am not worried about drowning ( PUN) but more of the inconvenience from the rain. I need to be highly mobile during this period i am there but do not wish to hire a driver. My question is during this monsoon period it is very difficult to hail a cab ? I was in Shanghai few months back and no problem even when it was drizzling.

How are u guys coping along during this period with transport if you are not a subway or bus user?

Any feedback will be appreciated . Thanks in advance

Cabs can be hard to find when it is raining, depends on the time and the location.
Monsoon season is just starting, I think it peaks in September. But, monsoons come in from the coast, so if anything, shanghai gets the remnents, sometimes strong thunder storms with wind. The strong rains do not last, but drizzle and 'normal' rain can last a few hours.

MOst people find the 36~42C weather with 99% hummidity harder to deal with than rain, if you're not used to the humidity.
