For stomach cramps, stop eating, drink flat coke and water only for 24 hours.
Flat coke is easy - pour a glass and add 1/2 teaspoon sugar. It's impotant not to dehydrate, and the coke will give you enough glucose to keep you going for a day. |

For monthly cramps, use a heating pad. I've also seen women use either hot water bottles or those self-heating patches. You can also try that Midol stuff, but use with caution... it can make you loopy but not in a good way.
For foot and leg cramps, increase your intake of potassium thru suppliments or bananas (use caution with suppliments, they can easily make you sick... I had a week-long morning sickness that turned out to be due to potassium suppliments which were taken in the morning).
For standard stomach cramps, Bonnie's flat Coke advice is on target. You can also swtich to ginger ale if you dislike Coke. Plus, eating some saltines seems to help. Or a hard-boiled egg with salt (if you eat eggs).
Feel better! |

Cramps can be because you need Calcium or Magnesium (very common among people exercising!)
If you can't find this you can use Creatin or Inosine. |

I agree with horsemandk - cramps are often caused by lack of magnesium - people doing sports just sweat a lot - and off go the minerals. It's important to stock up again (either by drinking mineral drinks with magnesium/calcium) or by eating bananas.
I guess the warm weather can also be blamed (more sweating - more intake of fluids and minerals necessary). |
