Post subject: best methods to learn chinese?

i am a 24yr old american male and i still live in the US but recently have considered jobs within my international company in Shanghai. for the time being while i am in the US are there any good ways to learn basic chinese language, like computer programs, etc?

communicating with chinese, listening to chinese radio and watching chinese tv all are good ways to learn chinese.
no matter what language we are learning, trying to be exposed to the original is the best way.
