yeah just read that. The reckon Voss will take over the D's next season as well. whats the point though of axing them with only 6 rounds left. cant understand that. sheeds = 27 bloody years with the Bombers and gone. you'd hope he gets a good payout at the end. |

Yeah, Voss will go to Carlton. Sheeds will finish the season, and i reckon he might either come on as Richmond fulltime coach (hopefully) or maybe as a consulting role.
4 coaches gone. Big changes at end of year.
Essendon - Harvey?
Freo - ?
Carlton - Voss
Melbourne - ? |

I just read The Age online. **** guys, this is a real shock for me. That's my club. I heard it here first.
Here's an extract of the article:
| Quote: |
Sheedy made his name as a player at Richmond, representing the Tigers in 251 games from 1967-79, including three premierships.
He replaced Barry Davis as Essendon coach in 1981 and led the Bombers to four premierships in 1984, 1985, 1993 and 2000.
If Sheedy chooses to stand aside straight away, he will have coached Essendon in 629 matches. That puts him second on the all-time list behind Collingwood legend Jock McHale, who coached the Magpies 714 times from 1912-49.
He recently broke McHale's record for most games as a player and coach.
Sheedy becomes the fourth AFL coach to be pushed aside this season, joining Neale Daniher (Melbourne), Chris Connolly (Fremantle) and Denis Pagan (Carlton).

Its big business now and if you dont get results, which equates to ticket sales, which equals money then you're gone. |

No doubt about it. It's been that way for quite a while. But the Bombers are still drawing in the crowds. Watched the recent match against the Magpies [The team everyone loves to hate] - huge crowd.
And the Bombers stand a reasonable chance to make the finals this season. Eight wins & eight losses - most of these were close. |

If you look at the ladder you'll find about 4 teams hovering around the edge of the 8. Brisbane are even up there now, we did Carlton by 117 points the other day. Johnno Brown bagged 10. |

Yeah, I saw the highlights. It's a record goal kicking performance in one match, I think.
Can you imagine what it would be like to be playing on him that day? |

He's a unit. pity he hasnt had the career we tought he would up north, with injuires etc. If he was Melbourne based he'd be a superstar. In Brisbane he's bigtime [him Vossy, Black, Acker before he left] but with League and U nion and now Soccer, its a tough market. |

BTW, who was on him that day? May have been a few, I'd imagine. |

Well Mat has outed me as Collingwood supporter, so I'd better step up to the plate here and say the reason a Bombers Pies game draws in huge crowds has a lot to do with the pies. |

Yeah, but you're right. The Pies do draw a huge following. Bombers not far behind though.
They have an impressive looking young side this season. They absolutely hammered the Bombers that day. It would be interesting if they make the finals against those friggin interstate clubs. |

But seriously, it's not good for footy is there's not one Melbourne club in the Grand Final. |
