What's BYB? Is it a restaurant, or an abbreviation for something? Sounds like an interesting combination of foods...Yunnan Lamb Noodles and Caesar Salad?

whats with all the "all you can eat" places. Are the Chinese trying to fatten us up for the slaughter?
Ive never seen this in other countries, sure as hell not in Australia!

All you can eat = buffet pretty much. Are you telling me there are no buffets in Australia?

I guess I should have said that I meant, all you can eat a la carte options. Of course buffets are everywhere, but these sushi/sake deals, etc are not common.

Had a 32 rmb chocolate truffle cake at Arugula yesterday. Tasted like a peanut brownie purchased from a place like Starbucks and left in the fridge for 2 months. The cream on the side was actually some sort of cream substitute, so there was nothing redeeming about the whole plate. I complained about the cake to a server, asking him to take the cake to the chef so the chef could try it, or at least be aware that there were quality issues. 45 minutes later I noticed the same waiter lounging at the bar. I smiled at him, he smiled back, and it was as if he had completely forgot my complaint. Arugula has lost any chance of my repeat business.

Crystal Jade
7th Floor Westgate Mall
Nanjing/JiangNing Roads

Ordered an array of dishes once getting through the menu. Was uber impressed that the rice came out from the word go and not as the last dish! Sizzling too and very tasty. Ordered a Peking duck and am totally confused by how you ensure you get duck MEAT not just skin (which is a pet peeve). Anyway it was tasty and was plated by one of the wait staff which was a nice touch. A few dumplings, beef with garlic dish, and sweet and sour pork. All tasty although had hoped for more 'dim sum' options!

Azul&Viva. Revisited an old favorite to introduce some newbies.

Food now mediocre at best. Environment overall getting more & more run down. Seems this once great place, opened by yet another "top international acclaimed chef" has been put on autopilot.

Staff are great kids, seemed to be eager, a redeeming factor to the whole experience, but can see & feel an obvious lack of direction & attention to detail that was before always present.

With a new western style restaurant seeminly opening every other day & the City Diner rumors all about town, would suggest that -someone- get back to basics with that extra time now on his/her hands. And psst...hygiene practices. She has seen better days

Quick stop at Crossroad in Parkson. Had laksa and curry. That place is so empty after it's renovation. It feels pretty good with noone smoking in front, beside and behind us.

hi Vintage, I make my own pizza dough : flour, water, salt, yest and olive oil.
it's very easy.
a friend who owns a pizzeria in Brazil gave us 2 pizza pan sheet , a kind of iron net that makes the pizza very
crispy cause it bakes completely well.
