there's a closer one- Motel 168 on Jinling Road. Dunno how much it cost but as the name suggests it should be quite reasonable. Also, walk down Jinling Rd and you'll see any number of local dives hawking questionable rooms- but if u are not fussed, u should be able to get a good deal. |

"local dives hawking questionable rooms" don't take people who doesn't LOOK like they are Chinese... something to do with having to register at the local police being too much trouble... but these guys ARE cheap... in 2004 they were 60-70 in the heart of JingAn...
I tried 4 in my neighbourhood for a friend before... no luck...
Lately I stayed unexpectedly at the BaoLong Home Hotel across from the famed Big Bamboo in JingAn... my air-con died on a night of 32 degrees... Paid 297RMB (incl. tax) for a very comfortable and clean room with king bed, desk of normal size, good showers and good air-con (saved the night)...
The location is fine for going out... not exactly next to XTD, but a good walk a long of places and it is at the heart of NanJing West so TongRen & such are just around the corner... |

motel 168, clean and new decor often cost about 200plus, if you are lucky you could have it for 100plus. You need to pre-book to have the low price. I have sent few people to stay there, even tried it once or twice... it's good..
They have many locations. else you can try YMCA - people sq. thou I remember my ex said it was a rip off for single room, unless you dont mind sharing |
