Post subject: Where to buy French movies?

Hi,

Could you please share the place to buy French movies, with French audio and correct French subtitle?

I don't mind whatever it's CD or DVD as long as the French language that's been using is the correct one ( subtitle and audio is matched). Preferable if the price is not too high (common fake price).

Thanks

I think you are asking too much - fake but subtitles must match. I don't think there's any place specifically selling fake French movies, so you will only find the popular movies that happen to be French, such as Amelie, Manon des Sources, Jean de Florette and so on. However, if they are not very new films usually the subtitles will be accurate. It's usually the very new films where the bootleggers have no choice but to create the subtitles themselves and in that case, it's going to be very poor.

There is a DVD store on Nan Yang Road behind the Portman about 50 metres from the intersection with Tong Ren Lu. It has the best quality I have found in Shanghai but they charge double the normal cost so it will be 10 rmb each. I am pretty sure they will have some of the movies I mentioned above.

Try the two joints on Dagu Lu, crossing with Chengdu Lu, parallel to Nanjing Lu or go to Linping Lu, also a good one..
7quai, good quality
