| Post subject: Sunday @ LeSaleya |
I want to share a pretty good experience at Le Saleya yesterday (Chang Le Lu 570).
Was sporting 4 of these little booklets of Shanghai Expat coupons and dropped by Le Saleya to get a 50% off Sunday deal together with 3 friends.
For around 500rmb the four of us had entree, main dish and desert plus a pretty good bottle of red.
I had as entree tomatos and muzzarela which were good. Tomatos were fresh, dish was not too salty, and the muzzarela was tasty. If there was a little bit more of muzzarela I'd give it a 9, but a respectable 7.5 out of 10 is due.
My main dish was the steak with black pepper sauce and vegetables. Was good to my taste, the veggies were not overcooked (a constant problem in this town!). The beef was good, not the best beef in town, but then for the reasonably priced meal it hit the spot completely. I will be coming back for more. I'd give it a 8.5. It was cooked right the way I like it, although I am not so picky with meat, as long as the meat itself is good
As desert we all had creme brulee and it was fantastic! That was the best part of the meal, and really tasty with the crunchy sugar on top, right like it should be. That was a 9.5.
Overall good quick and efficient service.
I will be coming back for more, on Sunday (when the 50% deal with Shanghai Expat coupons is on) or not. Keep it up!
Good stuff Le Saleya. |

It's a nice no frills little place to have a good time. The bar next door called 570 is also part of the place and is an undiscovered little secret at the moment. |
