| Post subject: English Book store |
Does anyone know of an English bookstore in Shanghai? Or any store that at least sells a few English language books and magazines. |

there are plently of bookstores now.
Garden Books: Changle lu/Shanxi Nan Lu - one of my favourites because they also accommodate "La Perla" (which does not sell underwear but icecream and coffee)
Chaterhouse: Times Square (that's Huaihai lu/Pu'An lu)
SB7 at ShuiCheng Nan lu (they used to have one bookstore inside Gubei Carrefour; but they also have another one at ShuiCheng Nan Lu next to Yan'An lu)
Then, you can also order online: www.booksdirekt.com.cn - delivery to your housedoor with cash payment in RMB; but only limited choice |

How many English books can one safely bring -- in practice -- when returning from Hong Kong? The second question would be: any good second hand book stores in HK? |

as many as you can pack in your suitcase without excessing the weight limitations just make sure you dont pack anything too negative on china, in case you should get checked. i've never ever had my baggage checked... would not know about a 2nd hand bookstore in hong kong but i do go to relay in the ocean terminal ( is it relay ? ) ...the selection is massive there |
