| Post subject: XBOX 360! CAN I PLAY CHINESE 360 GAMES ON MY AUSTRALIAN 360? |
I'm returning to Shanghai in September and games like Halo 3, Mass Effect, Assasins Creed, Call of Duty 4 etc etc etc are all coming out before the year is out. Does anyone know where I can buy legitimate 360 games that aren't pirated? And will I be able to play them on my Australian 360? I understand that there is a handful of region free games but has anyone actually experienced whether they work???? I have a HD computer monitor so the display is not a problem. Cheers. |

Also, regarding the lag issues, last time I was in China I had full speed ADSL which was equally as fast as the connection I have in Aus which is 24000k ADSL 2+. I'm not thinking it will be an issue with lag, it's more the speed of the host of the game. I was through China telecom and was paying 150RMB/month....anyone got the same plan? I arrive on 6th september so if anyone is keen for system link games nights that would be awesome. My live user name is GT VADER, add me if you like. Cheers. |

I have asked Microsoft twice which games I could buy in Hong Kong/Japan/Taiwan that would be useable on my US 360, and each time they were so condescending about my ignorance of TV standards, voltage differences, etc., that they never answered the actual question.
So, I buy them all from the US. It safe that way because XBOX is not supported by Microsoft in mainland China, so anything you buy is something someone else bought or imported from Hong Kong/Japan/Taiwan. My local friends here can not tell me a place where I can buy verified legit XBOX games. And, the market for XBOX games here is copied ones, the price is prohibitive for the average consumer here. Local users don't care since they don't use XboxLive.
"Full speed' ADSL here is 2Mb, not 2MB, 1200~1500rmb/year, but it is sufficient for 2v2 or 4v4 games. 8v8 games, I'm usually constantly 'red' for the entire game. Lag can vary greatly especially depending on what time of day you play. |

^3rd floor of the Metro centre, near all the Audio equipment, there is a small stall near the SONY shop that have a smalll selection of genuine 360/PS3 games. Also a place called Jacky games inside the Carrefoure building in Gubei. |

but are they all Asia-region games? Or even if they are, have you used them on an Euro or USA console? |

Jacky Games is a rip off. 1st floor on the corner of Nanjing Xi Lu/ Urumqi Lu near Jing An temple have a few games stores, one I noticed had around a dozen 360 original games, not sure of the region but I understand some games are region free so should work regardless. |

Thanks guys. I've been to Jacky games, it is a little pricey. But it's good news there are original games available. I might just have friends sne dme over games or ebay order them. A little off the subject but does anyone have internet banking set up with their Chinese bank accounts? That would be handy for ebay orders and so on. |
