Dear Friend,
I am Ebenezer N. xxxxx, Managing Director/CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, Accra. Since my assumption of office in the year 2005, I have been able to offset most over-due contract sums owed by the Government of Ghana to Foreign contractors and beneficiaries in the past years. You may be interested to know that on the processing of these payments, I was able to discover through investigation that my predecessor transferred the sum of US$15,000,000.00 to his associates account in CAYMAN ISLANDS but was unable to conclude the transaction before he was removed in office due to his fraudulent practice. The fund in question originated from the balance of over-invoiced sum and inflated government contracts of which the principal sum had been paid to the respective contactors and beneficiaries that executed the said contracts.
Since my predecessor was not able to complete the transfer due to his unannounced exit, the fund was recalled back and is now floating in a postal account (A/C No: 5555 5555 55555) of our bank and with my knowledge and position, I will be able to obtain an order of the Federal High Court, which will compel the bank to approve the funds in your favour and it will be either be transferred to your account through the Bank of Ghana or be arranged and deliver to your address through a Cash Delivery Payment System (CDPS). I have concluded every necessary arrangement for a successful approval in your favour and unrestricted delivery of the funds to your account or address through a diplomatic channel. Therefore, what is required from you is TRUST and HONESTY and to PROMISE that I will receive our share from you when delivered to your account/address. If you are interested to be part of this transaction, you will be required to supply us some necessary information that will enable us to perform. You are advised to send your bank account details (if you want bank/bank transfer) or your delivery address (if you want Cash Delivery Payment System). You are also advised to indicate your private telephone and fax number for easy communications.

there is an entire section about these nigerian scammers, in the book "gangs" i've just read. You would not belive how many people fall for these schemes every year , and how dangerous in can actually be once you meet up with these guys in person... |

I remember when I was 11 or something and didnt understand english so well, I thought that I got some kind of a letter in my email that I had a fine of 100000 dollars, and I couldnt sleep for a week and was constantly shaking. |
