I absolutely hate games that are too difficult to play or have spots where you die 45 times trying to get past a place or beat a boss.
If I was paying more than 5 rmb a game I'd be even more pissed... |

Can anyone help me to figure out SystemLink? My friend and I are trying to play local systemlink with Call of Duty 3. We both have original discs for Call of Duty 3. He has a US 360 and I have an HK 360. I host a game, start it and the game begins. He searches for my game, finds it, but when he tries to join it tells him that it is not available for joining. Any thoughts? |

Never liked GoW, so can't see me paying £35 for GoW2.
Far Cry 2 looks amazing but travelling around is a pain in the arse, glad I just rented it in the UK.
Fallout 3 is a great RPG - and of course has Qui-Gon Jinn/Rā's al Ghūl
One for you racer's - MotoGP 08 - Great handling, speed & tracks.
Short gamespan & Bloody hard |
So you finally got a 360? pretty cheap now in UK.
I love the new MotoGP game, esp now it includes the 125 and 250's. Start with arcade handling first til you get used to it.
Capcom have done a terrific job but the only thing that annoys me is, the sound of the bikes not loud enough and the 250's sound like 4 strokes!
Tiger Woods 09 is quite cool, your attributes go up and down depending on how you play, so shows you areas you need to improve on, plus it has Sheshan GC on it this year.
Happy gaming. |

Playing Saints Row 2 now.
It's like a Grand Theft Auto type game and a pretty decent game.
If you like shoot'em up games where you pick your missions and have a wide map it's worth a try. |

hi everyone
i posted here maybe 6 months ago writing about my RROD fix (involving placing erasers on the chips inside)
well, this was only ever a temporary fix i know...and its finally died again. this time replacing the erasers didn't work...no doubt something else has been fried.
anyway, i figure its time to buy a new unit.. ...mine was from 2005...first batch....and so apparently prone to more problems
so if anyone can point me to a store where they have new units (elite?...or are there even newer redesigns now?)
also, what is the general price now? i only really need the 20gb unit...well actually i dont even need the hard drive at all as i will use my old one...but i guess you have to buy the HD |

try this guy, he's in Wuxi but I brought 2 360s from him. Send him an sms and ask the current price of a 360. They are lo now he told me the other day.
13771054308 - ask him in english the current price of a 360 w a 20 gb hd. If I go into town today I will stop by and ask him. |

Anyone tried out the new 360 dashboard? It finally allows you to install games to the harddrive. Tried it out the other day, takes about 10 mins to install one game, and the games run a lot smoother (faster load times, less pop in etc) and should in theory make the older noisier machines a lot quieter. Thing is with a 20gb HDD you can pretty much only fit one game, as the rest is taken up with save games, settings etc. Wonder if there'd be a way to plug in an external HDD. |

Where to get the new 360 dashboard if I may ask.
I would much rather install the game on the hdd then delete it when done. |

^ Yep, or you can download it off a bunch of torrent sites, it's been available for weeks before the official launch. Can put it on a usb key and update that way too. |

^ Nah, I don't think that ever turned out to actually be happening to people. Still, use at your own risk I guess.
Yep, it's just a software installation. I think if you put it on a usb key and plug it in the 360 it will prompt you to update. |

Hey there, this is the topic i was looking for I have read the first pages but not the whole 17 pages, then sorry if i repeat. I'm moving to Shanghai for a while and i'm planning to bring my Xbox 360 with me. This is my plan:
- Put the console + controller in my carry-on on the plane (actually a backpack). I'm flying with United Airlines.
- Buy a 220v power brick in Shanghai, since mine is from Canada and will be useless.
I will also carry my games with me (without their cases of course). From what i've read it should be alright, but you never know. Anyone ever had bad experiences by doing this?
I will also have a laptop on the plane (we're allowed to bring one carry-on bag within weight limits + a laptop). I hope they won't cause me trouble by having my Xbox in my backpack and my laptop in another?
Thanks for you help |

^ Good luck in finding games that will play on your region 1 Canadian Console......
And you will struggle to access Live through the really slow choppy internet in Shanghai
You may be better off buying a console (usually HK spec) in Shanghai for anything between 1300 - 2000 rmb and normally chipped to play copied games which are very very cheap at around 5-15 rmb as opposed to 300-500 for an original region 3 game..
Why not PM SirFiddler in the quote below and see if his console is still available - He's a good guy and the price is very reasonable

Thanks for the reply, i'll think about it. But assuming that i'll only play games i already own (not looking for region 1 games in China, that was not in my plan to buy games there), is my carry-on plan an option?
I assume that a power brick alone would be cheaper than a new console, even at 1500 RMB, which is about 300$ (CND) these days with the exchange rate going up and down like a roller coaster.
As for xbox live, i don't really care....if i can connect on my account it's ok, otherwise it's not a big deal for me. |

I carried my Xbox360 in my carry on. No problem. Bring your power brick with you. Just buy a step down transformer here. Not that expensive, maybe $16 for a Microsoft one. All game shops have them or you can buy one home from Radio Shack or any other place that sells step down transformers. You want 220/240 down to 110/120. Also had a laptop in my carry on.
You can get your Box modded / chipped here if you want to play the local games. My friend had a US Box and we took it to a local shop and the guy did whatever to it and it plays local games now without issue.
As far as XboxLive, my experience is that the Internet connection in China is pretty bad and the bandwidth required is not really available.
On a positive note, new games cost so little here you may just want to leave your Box home and buy a local Box.
Here in China $10 usd gets you about 15 games... You do the math.
If you are bringing games from home I suggest you bring their original boxes in case you ever have an issue when you return home. But really you can buy dvd holders here for cheap.
I bring my Box home with me all the time and games as well, never had an issue leaving China or entering the USA.
If you have specific questions regarding Xbox, accessories, games in China feel free to pm me. I spend most of my waking non working hours playing Xbox - when my 20 year old beautiful Chinese girlfriend is not around that is. |

Xbox 360 new dashboard. Is a much nicer design than before and allows you to copy the game to the harddrive and play from there. But you still need to have the game in the drive. I recommend it to anyone who play Xbox.
Upgrade to the newer dashboard. |
