Post subject: Tips for Hotels During Olympics?
Yesterday we were told that we had been successful in the lottery and managed to secure some Olympic tickets.....now, the problem is that most internet listed hotels in Beijing during that period are fully booked.

Does anyone have any top tips for how to secure somewhere to stay for that period? Otherwise a long drive and a couple of nights in the car....

don't bank on the car - Beijing is likely to ban cars in order to improve on air quality. Also flight tickets will be scarce since Beijing plans to limit the number of domestic flights to Beijing during the Olympics to have more slots for international flights.
