Can anyone name a world-famous Australian artist, writer, politician, rock band, etc etc?
I mean, seriously, you have to really think hard what Australia actually does on this planet.
Americans, Australians and Chinese people seem exactly the same to me - dreadfully insecure and constantly going on and on and fcking on about how great their country is and what it's offered the world. Almost with a tear in their eye.
And Skyline, please, don't embarrass yourself - look whose language you're talking, old chap.

All really great innovative music comes out of Britain.
I'm listening to a lot of Beck and DJ Shadow these days - great American musicians/songwriters/producers - but I can't for the life of me think of any other stuff I would want to listen to from Stateside.
Australia has yet to score any credibility in terms of any great music acts. Kylie? HAHAHA!! Men At Work? HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Nick Cave is the only contender - he's probably ashamed to be Australian given the crap he's surrounded by. |

Yes Britain the land of the inbred Royal Family, a place of green rolling fields and lots of dark dingy castles and beautiful places like Liverpool, Slough, Manchester and who can forget the beautiful seaside resort of Blackpool,
A country that is full of culture that brought us East Enders, The Professionals Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em", Dad’s Army, mind you they did produce Doctor Who, Black Adder, The Young Ones, Little Britain and in return we gave them Neighbours, Home & Away and Prisoner.
Britain a place that has a new Prime Minister who has a stick so far up his arse that when George took him for a spin in a golf cart he had a stiff upper lip that said ‘I am not amused’.
A place of great history and many wars, a place were they stole tea from the Chinese and sold them Opium in return and pillaged the Romans, Greeks and French so that they can fill there museums with culture.
A place were they were one of the first (under Thatcherism – great women) tried out privatization and creating a level playing field and increase competition by reducing most tariffs only to then watch as other foreign companies took over most of their industries through private ownership all the greats like P&O, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Mini, Aston Martin, Rover, Thames Water, BOC, and Fleet Street that was munched up by Murdoch and Co. and the list goes on. Mind you Australia has followed suit and is now paying for it with British companies running some Public Transport.
So Britain a great place where on grey rainy day you can watch some football (without beckham) with people who never stop whinging about how hard done by they are. Australia, it may not be perfect but at least we have a laugh and can laugh at ourselves. |

I never once said Britain was great, sunshine. You won't find a union jack flag in my front yard.
But how many times a day do you mention the words 'Australia' or 'Australian'?
You are an aussie so you can't help youself. You have to say these words at least half a dozen times a day to try to convince yourself what a great country it is.
Yes, England is a shithole, but without it where would you be, old son? |

Oh give me a fckkking break!!!!
I have yet to meet a self-deprecating Australian. You lot are so paranoid about being ridiculed it's constantly like 'Aussie this, Aussie that'.
The English are the absolute best at 'laughing at oneself'. No one comes close - no one.
Here, allow me to cheer you up:
FAIR GO, MATE!!

sh1t you must have been lurkin around the forum waiting for an Aussie to bite.

Ah no actually because manage an office of all chinese in Shenzhen with one english speaking person
and never see any other expats around besides on here. I may defend or mention Australia on here sometimes
but if you read some my posts especially the one about Melbourne i'm not a nationalist who drapes themselves in
the aussie flag at national or international events.
And yes i agree there are many Australians out there who have to defend Australia to the very end
and end up in a fist fight but i personally am not one. I cheer on Australians when i am watching sport but
i sure you do the same with English sporting teams.
You are good at laughing yourselves (especially in comedy - Britian is king) and good at taking the p1ss
but i think that England has recently gone down the same path as Australia since the heightened terrorist activity
and being involved in wars we don't want, that we often take ourselves a little too seriously.
So i think that you may have met many Australians as i have met many English and could constantly make vast generalisations
(a common past time on here) about British but I think it does little but to prove how insecure everyone is about being outside of
their home country and basing every on meeting a few people.
Number of times i mentioned Aussie, Australia or Australians in this post: more than 1/2 a dozen |

We're not allowed to fly one , incase of raising tension with the do-gooders and the Guardian readers!!
All I can say is that most Australians that I've met here have been good people, also goes for the American's, but if you don't like the UK then you can just piss off!!
What exactly would you be without it??
Australia for one would'nt play any sport now would it?
And if it wasn't for rounders what other World series would you Americans play??
I'm sick of the country bashing on this site!!!
Unless its France, obviously
Let the RUGBY commence |

England has recently gone down the pan? Holy ****, where have you been?
I've watched England sinking in it's own excrement since the late 70's. Politically, since the late 70's, England is a nightmare. People either vote for one guy because they don't want the other guy or they don't vote at all. 'Apathetic' is the word often used to describe these voters or non-voters.
My money goes to George Galloway - a man who speaks with conviction, a man with balls the size of grapefruits and they're made of solid steel, but, of course,he'll never get elected. Such is the injustice of modern British politics.
But anyway, I still find Australian people to be highly defensive.
So there. |

What on earth are you on bewith??
youknow myname stands for an o-zone person since young my father told me three mouths in chinese how good it is, you ask me where my ego is, i go to my name to find my ego, my o still alives, what onearth I am on, i am on helping myself finding my egos since when I was 12 or11 my parents cheated me to cut my long hair down and when i walk into the classroom my male classmate told me that he even cannot identify me just like a boy. who is DSS? The name accompanied me at my 12-15 after we moved at the period i get crazily fat. Who is Sheesh, hasn't she passed away in the year1997-2000 when have to sleep at school with a lot of unlucky chinese teenagers? if an symbol is tagged to a person that already not still been that symbolized, where one's ego can be found?
What on earth I am with? Why I keep coming to this English website after 2005, who am I, am I the dead person lost egos and ids and thinking of my id cards and my name in Chinese Characters to a psychological problem?
What on earth I am? you call my chinese name, and i am thinking where that one in college passed away, so i am a o-zone person, am i a cork am i an penius ? I know I take shanghaiexpat as a mental hospital in someways 'cause I just cannot think in a probable way already. Is it because my brain drowned in computer too much after 2004? am i the legally pink who want to be a lawyer but failed, am i the blind big Americanski who go to PlanB for a drink just to be as independent as that Emma Wong in Economist group or am i still the little-headed girl with not little body? what the hell am i looking for, that's you should ask me, Yorkshireking |
