I don't mind the man smoking. = I don't mind the man that is smoking.

Which analysis is correct?

They are actually both correct. It just depends what context you are using them. In the first example, however, you are commenting on the 'man' 's character, so it's kind of awkward that you are identifying him by his actions and not his name. (Someone feel free to correct me if they feel I'm wrong. This is just my opinion.)

Beg to differ. Neither one is correct. Unless he's keeping the smoke inside his own lungs he can take the goddamned cigarette and jam it up his rectum. All the way up his rectum, until he can blow smoke bubbles when he burps.

more differing Razz Smoking STINKS. It makes my nose stink inside, my hair stink outside, ruins my food, makes my clothes stink like an ashtray.

If people want to smoke, that's fine - as long as they keep the noxious stuff inside themselves. Otherwise, it's only right to wipe fresh dogshit all over them in the same way they wipe their crappy smoke all over me.

Or you all could change to smoking weed, which at least has a not-totally-unpleasant aroma.

Using your analogy, you would first have to wipe dog **** all over yourself. Stinks is relative, and like sound and sight, can be blocked by the brain. It is only certain personality types that get aggitated by smells. Truth is you smell much worse things on your walk home from work, and now you'll notice that those smells only bother you for a quick moment because you choose to block them out. You think bus exhaust is less sticky to your clothes than cigarette smoke? It's a funtion of modern society, people need something to hate, some governments have made it legal to hate smokers. Tomorrow it will be your bar-B-que, your type of car, your hobby, your favorite drink, your pet, and then you'll learn. Until that day comes, try not to hate, it's not healthy and does no one any good.

A psychology degree came in one of your boxes of shoes ? Look up. Where's the repressed part ? If people want to smoke where it doesn't screw up my right to breathe, kewl. You find some anger being repressed and I'll buy a new pair of odor-eaters.

Meanwhile, maybe you should stick to shopping.

Do you understand how this phrase has no substantial meaning? Not directly anyway. How can you show where you have discussed your right to breath with bus companies, coal factories, chemical plants? You've merely picked a pc topic where you can whine freely and get some public acceptance and empathy. Maybe you could join a Klan and whine about which color skin you don;t like because it screws up your right to see. Have you called Sony records about how hip-hop screws up your right to hear? Have you called a pychologist to talk about how your nightmares screw up your right to feel? Have you called some beer company to complain about how drunk drivers screw up your right to live?
Every sense can be moderated internally. The senses we choose not to moderate speak volumes about ourselves, especially when the issue at hand is not illegal.

It's a filthy habit Razz

Bad Bad Bad Grammars

I won't allow anyone smoking in my face unless he's keeping the smoke inside his own lungs or can jam the goddamned cigarette up his rectum, all the way up until he can blow smoke bubbles when he burps.

Is that what you meant?

Filthy Words: PERFECT
Bad Grammas: NO

Thank you, sienna.

But still I can NOT see any difference.

This language is so awkward and full of redundencies.

Now you understand why you need an English teacher. English is not as complex as Russian/Mandarin/Japanese, but it is one of the more difficult languages to learn. Deal with it.

Nasty for what??? Sad Sad Sad

I am hurt in my fragile heart.

SPP is indeed in need of some helps but there are so few persons really trying to help SPP.

Someone like CoffeeHawk_0 always stays here, mocking SPP from the very start, never trying to give SPP a warm hand, even discouraging SPP from the path of English learning.

And I am the nasty one here?!
SPP is the nasty one here?!
Shame on you all!
