Very angry, need help, what to do?

Post subject: Very angry, need help, what to do?

I was searching for my own name and old business name on Google one day and found a site which had published all the details. Well the company no longer exists and it was operating from home which basically meant that my name, my email, my home phone number and address and company name are still on that website.

Now if it was in English I'd contact them and ask them to take it down.

But the site is in Chinese and seems to be linked to a newspaper based in Beijing.

I have called them (get an answering machine or voice mail) , have emailed them in both English and Chinese, have gotten my father (with fluent Mandarin) to send them a fax all the way from Australia.. to no avail. They are either not getting our msgs, or choosing to ignore them.

I am furious because they did not even have our permission to print it. and the company does not exist anymore.

I have been trying for a month to get the info taken down from their stupid site and cannot get anyone to contact and communicate with us or co-operate.

what should I do? Any ideas? I need help and fast!

Maybe if we all spam them with the same msg they might get the hint ? Wink

once business information is distributed in an online fashion, it will always exist online somewhere. You may just need to change your number or your address as I am certain that site will not be the only place the info exists now.

Which leads me to another tip for everyone, think carefully before posting anything online as it gets cached by a multitude of bots from various search engines and such and even if the content were deleted, copies will likely exist forever.

there is a **** who set up a virtual email account and sent stupid emails to my staffs whose name always on some advertising materials or recruitment website. god damn it, he/she could even find out my email ID and asking me when i am winding down my business here. what is on their mind?
