| Post subject: Question about 'body massage' for ladies |
I'm an avid runner and I usually get a foot massage once a week.
My regular foot massage guy at my local therapeutic massage salon suggests that its time for a body massage. Believe it or not, I've never had a full blown 1 1/2 hour body massage at a salon like this, but my sore back and neck tells me I could probably use one.
So here is my question... and I apologize for my naivete, but what should I expect? Should I worry about wearing comfortable clothes - or will I be taking them off? Should I ask for a lady masseuse if I'm modest ? or will the male masseuse be use to giving massages to women?
Thanks

Hum all depends on were you go.
If you go to a clean regular place then don't worry. Those guys are professional. If you require a standard massage they will give you kind of pyjama. You will keep it during the whole massage. They will even put some towells on it sometimes.
If you ask for a oil massage, then you can guess by yourself that you will have to take off your clothes. Anyway, if the place is a professional one, they won't make you feel uncomfortable, you will keep towell to cover your poor naked body.
Where is the place you want to go?
Lady or guy... I am a guy and I have never been tempted by a massage from a guy... but for you, you choose whatever you feel you would prefer. Maybe some girls comments would be more useful to you . |

If as you say they are professional, they won't make you feel uncomfortable either way. Its up to you. if you feel uncomfortable then ask then to change to a guy or a girl which ever makes you feel better. it is after all the point. Though I'm male, I've never minded a massage given by a guy. I find the girls tend to be a bit too weak for my liking. I always feel bad when I tell them I'd like it a bit stronger knowing that they are already using their full strength. if it is your first time maybe it is a good idea to ask for a girl. they do have a lighter touch and you can see if its good for you. |

i prefer blind masseuse. in my experience, they are more attentive to your muscles and how much pressure.
some massage places have big rooms where there are several beds. they do the body massage with all the other customers. no need to take off your clothes. just those things in your pockets and the belt. |

During the winter my wife and I go for a sauna and massage at a local spa in our city. Sometimes we have male attendants and sometimes female. Because I'm with her we've never had any difficulties with the male attendants. In the past (before me) whenever she went alone if the male attendant began anything that wasn't appropriate she let him know in no uncertain terms where the boundaries were. This is important. If there are areas that are out of bounds they must know. Better still, if you have challenges with males giving full body massage, just say no that you'd like a female. Myself I've had many by both sexes and found that females give a better massage to males as many of the male masseuses tend to be a bit rough on the males. Have also had the massage by the blind masseuses and these are equally as good and usually a lot less costlier than the upscale spas. Blind massage about 30-35RMB/60 minutes. Spa usually around 50RMB/60 minutes. Actually found one on a side street once that was 25RMB/60 minutes. |

Sorry, should also say that am in a smaller city than SH, however, think for a person who wants to pay these prices should be able to find a place in SH. Go where the Chinese live and work. I've found many different things that fit well within my budget in these areas. |
