| Post subject: Register for 3rd time ? Do i need to ???? |
Hi all,
When i moved into my apartment i signed a 6 month contract and took it to the police station when i registered. During this period i had to get a new visa and so had to go back to the police station. Now the 6 month contract has ended and i have agreed with landlord to stay on for one more month and i have a supplemental contract to agree this.
I am wondering though if i need to go back to the police with this additional contract or whether, since i have not changed apartment, i need not go back; the original contract also stipulates there is an option to extend with a period.
Any info helpful - i am thinking this time since my passport/visa expiry date/address are all the same as previously i need not go back but was wondering if any has any ideas or experiences on this point.
Thanks in advance |

I dont think you have to based on our logic, but I would err on the side of caution and pop by. I went every time i exitted or left town for the first year and finally the officer told me I can just pop by if I needed an updated form or something for visa purposes, but that since I am not living elsewhere, they are fine if i don't keep coming in. i took that as "look we are too lazy to keep re-registering you so stop pestering us unless you really need to."
When i did finally NEED the form, I was questioned about why by another officer and she accepte my story about them telling me not to keep coming in and have never had issues since.
BUT I still recommend going by just in case, better safe than sorry as they seem to be on the prowl lately for illegally registered/ unregistered foreigners. |
