Depends on your salary, job, if you're coming because of a company on an expat package, or if you're coming here, then finding work. A lot of issues. And a HUGE difference in price ranges in places around Shangers.

Hi all, I know this is a post that has been asked , probably a million times. I am looking for an area etc that will provide some support to the family as I will also be travelling from SH into the whole AP region. Not sure that an apartment will be the best. We have a nearly 4 week old and I have 2 older daughters from my first marriage 22 yo with a 20month son (my grandson) and a 18yo. All will be visiting! I will be working in Pudong for a automotive manufacturer.

cheers.....

If you move into a villa, try to find one with floor heating, otherwise it will be crazy cold for the baby/toddler on the floor level during winter

Jinqiao is the villa-area in Pudong, lot to choose from.

Will you be coming for a "look-see" trip? And will your company provide a relocation agent for you to help with finding residence, helping with wife settling down, international hospital, supermarket, transportation etc etc... I hope you do have a relo company to help, it makes a huge difference. And the agent can provide a whole list of real estate property according to your budget and requirement.

Which part of Pudong do you work in? It could be from Lujiazui (General Motor?) to Zhangjiang...
