Post subject: Indicative Website

Bidding for a project at the moment and one thing I would like to do is to include in the proposal is something like "If we are awarded the project we would propose to establish a website to indicate......xyz" Then I would like to include a link to a very basic sample of what could be proposed, ie just a few photos and some text.

Could anyone give suggestions as to the easiest way to do this. Would anyone like the job of setting this up?

I'd start a one post blog and link to your document.

Great way to keep things up to date without needing to take care of hosting, domains and all the rest and keeping the info up to date to whomever reads your proposal.

I'm assuming you dont need anything extra fancy, just somewhere to dump documents.

I also assume these blogs have password protection so you can restrict the access.

I know, I know, the word "blog" has this sticky feeling to it, but technologically speaking it's the simplest way for a layman to get info on the web posted without needing anyone to do anything for him (just bypassing the good old IT guy that thinks everyone is dumb because they dont know what a device driver is already bliss, fk him, power to the people!)

Thanks for the suggestion hc. Sounds like a good idea. What I need to have is a website looking page when they click on the link (I don't care what the address is). This will be basic with a couple of photos, some text and if possible I want to include a menu with links to some other pages. But these pages will have nothing on them. Just a phrase such as "to be developed once "x" has happened".

I'm pretty dumb with these things but I assume that its getting easier all the time for an amateur such as me to do this? If Sienna can produce a blog how hard can it be Wink

I appreciate your help.

haha.

A blog would do the things you mention.

Another alternative:

I dont know if you use mindmapping software, but I imagine that since you are running all these projects you might.

In case you use MindManager from Mindjet.com (great software), you have a function that can export a complete website with pictures, notes and a decent looking template with one click, straight from the mind map. Great little software and features.

If you dont use mindmanager please forget this idea. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

Why not just do it in photoshop or similar.

An example is just an example.

Although, we've done more than that for some clients - typically if the project is worth a hundred thousand or more i'll make some layout and site designs, if its under the less they get.

eg http://zou.computersolutions.cn was something we knocked up in 4 days for a client.
Although we didn't get the project, we did a decent job at a mockup.
