Can you arrange a champagne or sparkling wine option too? Otherwise looks quite good.

Had the brunch at Neo Cafe this afternoon and it was OK, the food was tasty, and the portions adequate. The french toast was particularly nice.

Service was a little hap-hazard but eventually they got the orders correct, so when I'm that side of the city again I may pop back in there.

Give it a try! Very Happy

Geez, if service is the main problem (like 99 percent of F&B establishments in this city) then it's up to the western expat staff (Sandra?) to fix it, otherwise the place will fold within 6 months, if that.

I had been there once, service was ok, food was ok.
The location of NEO is also ok.

Everything perfect is not easy, it's not in a 5star hotel, I won't expect too much.
A restaurant like NEO in Shanghai, always keep the same level of food quality and service, and very important: reasonable price.
of course, with some kinds of ad.

Keep doing that,
After 6month,
You make money.

Well a few friends and I took Sandra up on her invite to try out their first day of Brunches and it was quite decent. We arrived around 1030 and the staff had set up the restaurant but had absolutely no customers so I was concerned that they had not started yet. they reassured me that they were indeed starting a Brunch menu and seated us by the window. As we were the first sit-down brunch customers that day, they were most defininitely working out the kinks. They had to confirm that the coffee was indeed refillable (as it was listed on the menu in English but they figured it out.) the food for all of us came out reasonably close in timing, and the food was quite nice.

For the four of us, having ordered 2 scrambles, 1 omelette, one egg breakfast, one french toast a a fruit plate and free flow coffee's for all, the final price of 250rmb was a deal. The service was not perfect but they made the effort even without the western manager having arrived yet, to make things right. While things did get noticeably better after her arrival, its good to see that some of their staff were making an effort in the right direction.

I just hope the local ownership of Neo Cafe appreciates the changes Sandra is trying to implement, as I see it as a step in the right direction to attract all those potential customers from the Four Seasons and Top of the City complex. They have made it 7 months so far an being an ecclectic little cafe but now that their is some focus, it may begin to thrive at doing a few things very well and attracting regulars that will help grow business.
For the price, it IS definitely a good option for a decent basic brunch.
