Post subject: Transport in Shanghai

Hi there, I'm a student studying my Final year of Automotive Design in Coventry England and was wondering if you could help.

I'm designing a City car for Urban China and had some questions about Transport in Shanghai which would really help me out if anyone could help.

I need to know who drives into the centre. Is it business people or people taking children to school, lot of delivery drivers etc?

Also lots of people cycle in shanghai, would a car that could fit a bike in it easily be welcomed. For example they could park just out of the city where there is less congestion and cycle the rest of the way?

Also with the 1 child legislation in urban areas how many people are normally in cars going into town? Is it generally just one business person by themselves? Then do people use the car at weekends for leisure purposes?
