Bougie, I am not sure what information you are looking for but here goes a few random thoughts that might give you a feel for the city. I have been to Changchun about ten times this year for business. It seems like a fairly nice city for the North East. ( i.e. not exactly Shanghai but I think it is a little better than other NE cities like Harbin).

There seems to be a quite a few European expats living there working in the automotive industry. There is an international school in Changchun so I guess there must be enough expats there to keep a school in business.

It didn't seem like there are a lot western restaruants beyond the typical fast food places like Pizza Hut, Mc Donalds and KFC. I know this may sound stupid but...there are a lot of nice Chinese restaurants there. What I mean is clean places that you'd probably feel comfortable eating at.

It's obviously pretty cold there in winter but most places should have good heating systems so you won't be shivering inside your apartment like you do down south. I would imagine that the skiing is pretty nice there as they just hosted the asian winter games.

The last time I was there I came across a little booklet that provides some information about Changchun ala "City Weekend" but on a much smaller scale. You can take a look at their website to get some more information.

PM me if you have any specific questions and I'll send you my e-mail address.
