It's gonna be a looong work week ahead. No weekend off for the Golden Week holidays. |

PERFECT EXAMPLE OF LAKAS NG LOOB...
Bill Gates organized an enormous session to recruit a new Chairman for Microsoft Europe.
5000 candidates assembled in a large room.
One candidate was MARIO DIMAYUGA.
Bill Gates: "Thank you for coming. Those who do not know JAVA may leave."
2,000 people left the room.
MARIO said to himself, "I do not know JAVA but I have nothing to lose if I stay. I'll give it a try."
Bill Gates: "Candidates who never had experience of managing more than 100 people may leave."
2000 people left the room.
Mario said to himself, "I never managed anybody but myself but I have nothing to lose if I stay. What can happen to me?" So he stayed.
Bill Gates: "Candidates who do not have management diplomas may leave."
500 people left the room.
Mario said to himself, "I left school at 15 but what have I got to lose?" So he stayed in the room.
Lastly, Bill Gates asked the candidates who do not speak Serbo- Croat to leave.
498 people left the room.
Mario says to himself, "I do not speak one word of Serbo-Croat but what do I have to lose?"
So he stayed and found himself with one other candidate.
Everyone else had gone.
Bill Gates joined them and said "Apparently you two are the only candidates who speak Serbo-Croat, so I'd now like to hear you converse in that language."
Calmly, Mario turned to the other candidate and said,
"Kumusta ka, pare ko."
The other candidate answered,
"Mabuti naman, ikaw?" |

Dear Dr. Love,
Verna |

Good morning shanghai...

Tao lang ako, may hangganan
Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Dear Dr. Love,
Sumasainyo,
Jayjay Llague

Drinking Problem
One day a drunk walked into a bar and ordered a gin and tonic. He drank half of it and poured the rest on the bartender.
The bartender got angry, grabbed the drunk by the collar, pulled him close to his face, and asked, “Why did you do that?”
The drunk said very apologetically, “I am so very sorry, sir. Please forgive me. I can’t help it. It’s an illness I can’t get rid of. I am so ashamed of it. How can I make it up to you?”
The bartender answered, “Haven’t you seen anyone about this problem?”
The drunk replied, “I never thought of that. Maybe I will.”
The bartender said, “Don’t come back until you do get help,” and the drunk left.
About three months later the drunk came back to the same bar, ordered another gin and tonic, drank half of it, and poured the rest of it on the bartender.
The bartender shouted, “I thought I told you not to come back until you got help!”
The drunk replied, “I did. Now I don’t feel ashamed.” |

maayong gab-i sa indong tanan.
if you can spare a few minutes:
Ennio, as you will see, is a comedian from Italy who does impressions of stars and singers.
He does a quick-change, paper doll drag act that is very original. Quite interesting and entertaining ... check out the clip below:

We have recently met a Filipina ayi who works in our residential community.
She is scared to be seen talking to us because she is not allowed to talk to other residents. Her employer tells her she is low class and can only talk to other ayis.
Her starting salary was 3500 but has been reduced to 2500 for no good reason. This month her boss caught her playing a game on her cell phone and for this told her she would receive no salary this month.
She is allowed 3 meals a day and no snacks. Her employer arranges food etc in the house so that if it is ever moved she yells at the ayi because she thinks the ayi is stealing food.
If she goes outside she is not allowed to sit on the furniture unless she takes a bath.
Sometimes her employer will barge into her room at 11pm and tell her to take a bath.
If she quits she has to pay her employer 1000 rmb to pay them back for the work visa that they applied for.
Her employer took her passport away from her.
She sends all her money home to her husband and kids so is basically always broke.
All this sounds crazy to me.
What can we do to help her? By we, I hope that includes some of you guys...
What kind of help could the Filipino embassy give if any?
Maybe you know Filipino lawyers in Shanghai that can help her?
Anyone (anyone normal!) looking for a Filipina ayi to work for them?
Any replies appreciated. |

She has a slavery syndrome, possibly if she already accepted this.
The consulate can only help her if she ask for help as the employer can not keep her passport. I just wonder if she signed an employmnet contract with her employer as this will help her in her case. |
