I was just wondering if there are people in this website who would like to invest their money in properties in the Philippines. Right now Philippines is becoming a leader in the retirement industry catering to both foreigners and "balik-bayans".

Despite the financial crisis, foreigners can practically live a luxurious lifestyle in the Philippines. It is convenient for foreigners to live in the Philippines since most Filipinos can speak English.

If there are foreigners or Filipinos who wish to invest in the Philippines, I recommend investing at Megaworld in Fort Bonifacio. It is conveniently situated near Makati (CBD of Manila), International School, most foreign embassies, golf parks, polo club, hospital, airport, and a lot more.

Depending on what personality you have, Serendra is not that bad. Both Megaworld and Serendra are located in Fort Bonifacio. Megaworld projects offer either condominium units or house and lot; Serendra offers condominiums only. Serendra are mostly low rise and is located near the malls that are quite busy. On the other hand, most Megaworld projects are mostly located in more peaceful and more relaxing environment. So judging your preference, I guess you are the busy type or one who loves going to the mall.

i'm not sure... I'm guessing it may depend on how much you're remitting. you can try calling the bank at 6886-0008 - not sure if it's still their number, tho.

if you want another option, you can use Western Union or Money Gram (i think more banks here are affiliated with Money Gram). The cost is about the same, perhaps even cheaper.

Metrobank Shanghai is in Pudong; never been there kasi ang layo. If you're in Pudong, or willing to take the trip, then go.

^ Bakit sa black market pa? Sa dami ng counterfeit money dito, delicado. Sa banko ka lang at mas sigurado, mas mababa nga ng konti palitan pero at least iwas goyo.
Halos lahat ng banko ay nagpapalit from RMB to USD or other major currencies. Dalhin mo lang passport mo.
