Post subject: Authorised microsoft dealers in Shanghai?

Wonder if anyone knows where there are authorised microsoft dealers in Shanghai?

I have a problem of having Chinese Vista Home Premium on my new laptop and want to change to English. It seems I can do this if I upgrade my Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate.

Seemingly I can then download a Multilingual User Interface that can chage the whole system to other languages. This option isn't allowed in Home Premium.

Anyone ever tried this?

Looks like the upgrade option is around $150 online in the US but can't be done in China, so I assume the upgade disks are available for purchase here?

Anyone got any ideas?

computersolutions, you must come across this problem every day? Very Happy
Cheers

a) I don't do Vista. At all.

Currently my clients have the option of XP or me not supporting them.
I refuse to do Vista. Its such complete kak that I don't feel I want to support it.

b) $150 isn't an upgrade - you're buying another copy at that price.
For what its worth, only the corporate editions can use the MUI.
Normal users can't buy the corporate editions, only people like us with Technet, or people with corporate agreements with MS (>100 seats last we checked with Microsoft.)

To be honest Microsoft isn't really interested in the home user / small user market.

If you want to use English, and you have Chinese, they will sell you a copy of the english one.

If you don't like it, don't buy a computer with the OS pre-installed, as you are paying extra for something you don't want or need.

Thanks for the reply computersolutions

Actually, I've done some research on the net and it seems in vista that the MUI is available for download if you have Vista Ultimate. This for the English version so I'm assuming that the Chinese version works like this as well.

Is there a microsoft office or shop in Shanghai that anyone knows of? They might have more experience of doing this.
