Aside from dining at restaurants, I think these are fun and romantic things to do on a date (ok... I'm a girl). Where can I go do them around Shanghai?
(in no particular order... just brainstorming here)
1. picnic by the water
2. miniature golf
3. fishing
4. kite flying
5. bowling
6. ice-skating
7. go-cart
8. theme / amusement park
9. petting zoo
10. browsing a pet shop
11. strolling along a quiet boutique-filled street
12. night view of the city from somewhere high (outside)
13. spa for couples
14. make something together (ie. pottery, baking, etc.)
15. dessert tasting around the city
16. horseback riding
17. canoing
18. hiking
Please feel free to add to the list and suggest places to go. |

if you ask your man to take you out eating, then some man will think you are so poor that no money to buy the food for self.
if you ask your man to take you out traveling or doing the sightseeing in your town, then your man will think you are a countryside girl that is very greedy to get together with him to play with, you know man always account how much money they always spend on you, so you should take your man to read or buy the books( to buy the books as many as you want) together in some library or bookstores in here~~~~~~

1. picnic by the water
Have you found water here that you'd be impressed to sit near that's not a toxic waste sewer ?
2. miniature golf
Sounds fun if you are in Junior High.
3. fishing
Again, see water comment from #1.
4. kite flying
Science and Technology Museum Pudong... yawn, this is boring after 2 min.
5. bowling
This sounds like fun - I want to know the location of this as well.
6. ice-skating
Top of Super Brand Mall in Pudong has this.
7. go-cart
This sounds like fun, ditto from #5.
8. theme / amusement park
Do you trust the maintenance of the track and cars.... hmmmm.
9. petting zoo
No thanks, I don't need free SARS or Bird Flu any time soon.
10. browsing a pet shop
Quaint, but might be entertaining for an hour or so.
11. strolling along a quiet boutique-filled street
Anywhere that is 'quiet' here, aka: not drowning in construction or people ?
12. night view of the city from somewhere high (outside)
Top of Jin Mao or the Pearl comes to mind, if you can see through the smog.
13. spa for couples
This sounds hot, probably best idea you've got on the list...
14. make something together (ie. pottery, baking, etc.)
Interesting, might be interesting for a couple hours, but what and where ?
15. dessert tasting around the city
Gluttony, this is a great idea - lots of places to choose from here.
16. horseback riding
Probably the most dangerous thing I've done here in China besides riding a commercial airliner (pick one). There's a place just west of Shanghai that provides this - but is a summer activity.
17. canoing
Hmm, I think we've covered water here a few times.
18. hiking
Need mountains for this - probably somewhere "North" I would assume.
Please feel free to add to the list and suggest places to go. |
I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios, but the number of super-fun things to do here is limited to a handful, at best, of things. I think that is why people travel out of the city as often as they do... i.e. Sanya in Hainan.
Good luck, I think if it doesn't revolve around shopping or KTV it's not that "popular" here.... |

Tomorrow is another working day... Yup, another day go back to work, huh???!!!
Don't Matter
Konvict Konvict
Oh
Ohoohwooe
Oooh
Ooohhwooe
[Chorus:]
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you babe
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you babe
'Cause we gonna fight
Oh yes we gonna fight
Believe we gonna fight
We gonna fight
Fight for our right to love yeah
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
Nobody thought we'd last forever
I feel 'em hopin' and prayin'
Things between us don't get better
Men steady comin' after you
Women steady comin' after me
Seem like everybody wanna go for self
And don't wanna respect boundaries
Tellin' you all those lies
Just to get on your side
But I must admit there was a couple secrets
I held inside
But just know that I tried
To always apologize
And I'ma have you first always in my heart
To keep you satisfied
[Chorus]
Got every right to wanna leave
Got every right to wanna go
Got every right to hit the road
And never talk to me no more
You don't even have to call
Even check for me at all
Because the way I been actin' lately
Has been off the wall
Especially toward you
Puttin' girls before you
And they watchin' everything I been doin'
Just to hurt you
Most of it just ain't true
Ain't true
And they won't show you
How much of a queen you are to me
And why I love you baby
[Chorus]
Oh oh oh oh oh
'Cause I got you
'Cause I got you
Oh
'Cause I got you babe
'Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you babe
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you babe
'Cause we gonna fight
Oh yes we gonna fight
Believe we gonna fight
We gonna fight
Fight for our right to love yeah
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you babe
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you babe
'Cause we gonna fight
Oh yes we gonna fight
Believe we gonna fight
We gonna fight
Fight for our right to love yeah
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don't matter no
'Cause I got you |

Oh poo. No wonder KTV is so popular. You go, you get drunk, you get laid and you're still home in time to get a good night's sleep. |

I thought you had learnt by now that this is a wrong place for you to fish a date? let alone a 'creative and romantic' one ? |

I don't need to fish for dates, especially from an open forum! Guys who want to have dates with me will have to take a number and go through a rigorous screening process. Get it straight!
If you read my OP, I asked for addresses and locations of where I can go on creative and romantic dates with the lucky chosen ones!!!
PS. KTV, shopping, clubs, blah blah blah. Been there. Done that. Where is the WOW factor? |

...
19. Take a short trip together to get out of shanghai
20. visit a hot pot restaurant near closing time (so it's not insanely crowded with curious people)
21. Cook at home
22. Go for a walk together outside between 12 - 3 a.m (No one is on the roads and it's the closest thing you can have to a romantic evening without a hord of people fluttering about)
23. If one of you are traveling, visit him or her at the airport to see him/her off or to greet him/her. The airport is surprisingly quiet during weekdays so saying goodbye or saying hello to your other is always nice and romantic. There are always nice restaurants in an airport to chat in.
... Oh my, it's tough thinking of things to do in a city that is constantly noisy and over crowded. Anyways, I am no expert. These are just suggestions that I think can be nice |

9/10/13/14/15 sound good to me. An afternoon walk in a small park will do too. Once a while dining in a restaurant with Huang pu river view could be romantic too as long as your wallet is thick enough. The very truth is that there are a lot of ourdoor things that you cant really do in shanghai. So people seeing at downtown is another interesting thing to do on weekends when there is no specific plans. |

The best things in life are free. If you are spending time with a loved one, even the most mundane things can be magical. |

The most important thing to remember is location, location, location.
No matter how much you try to look your best and spit-shine your car for that extra gloss, you are only as good as what you have to offer each other and you can make it as romantic as you want. |
