This isn't the "sim shanghai" one, this is like google street view styles. I'm sure if you looked hard enough you could find some interesting things like some prostitutes or a toddler taking a dump on the street. |

The images are loading pretty quickly for me right now. I'm having a more difficult time finding where I am on the map since I can't read chinese and the only map of Shanghai I ever look at is the subway map! |

Book stores sell recent Shanghai Maps.
News paper stalls usually do too.
For digital, ShanghaiExpat's map function will get you both Chinese and English versions or MapBar's map |

I've got a couple here:
http://smiclq.wikispaces.com/Geographic+Location
But the best one is in Chinese. I don't know of any in English.
EDIT: Hey, all of yu888's recommendations are really cool. I'm still searching for how to change Mapbar to English, but I found Zhangjiang real easy on the ShanghaiExpat map. |

Thanks for your answers!
For the record, http://www.sh.edushi.com/ is the only one that shows my street, so I assume it is the most recent. On the other hand, it covers a smaller area than the other maps. |

Oops, I spoke too fast...only the 3D version displays it, not the 2D version. |

| Post subject: Online Map of Shanghai? |
Where can I find a good interactive map of Shanghai (in English)?
I've seen the ones here here and at smartshanghai, but their too small/not as detailed as I'd like.
The one I use to use (http://www.uumap.com/engine/indexV1.6.0.jsp?null) is no longer working for some reason.... |

Unfortunately I haven't found any good online English Shanghai maps as well (been looking for a long time). So far only in Chinese and the best one I find is http://www.edushi.com. Of course this probably doesn't help you but it may be useful at some point. |

The only other Shanghai English interactive maps that I know of are available at Mapking and/or Route66 but you only get a very short free trial time and then must purchase. They are great to use with Mobile phone GPS. Updates are only made every couple of years so they don't always have the latest roads although gps will show your location on "non existent" road on map.

Thanks for this one...loads of fun! But I keep crashing my car driving around, very realistic in that regard. Easy to find places even if no Chinese. |

Maybe the address should've been http://shanghai.uumap.com/#
Works for me. |

no, they were down.
they are on-line again
this is their full-screen map:
http://www.uumap.com/engine/indexV1.6.0.jsp?cityCode=310000
at the RHS bottom, click on the arrow, then on the little map to see the full screen map.
they still have major issues:
the english version doesn't work and the most detailed maps can't be accessed. |

but what we do is try to more or less understand chinese and could read chinese map
like googlemap of shanghai or ddmap.com
actually you dont need to know chinese quite well as you almost know where you are |
