| Post subject: Apt building suggestion in XuHui, Jin An, French Conc, PP Sq |
Please recommend some compounds/buildings in XuHui, French Concession, People's Sq, Jin An area. I'm looking for 1 bedroom or room to share in buildings similar to LaDoll, 1 and 8 Park. Proximity to Metro Line 1 would be great or ease to hail cabs. (I'm still figuring out the different neighborhoods) Also, a more social crowd for a newbie would be preferred. Thanks. |

Around XJH, try Novel Garden on CaoXiBei Lu, La Cite on Nandan Dong Lu, TianJi Garden, Jewel Garden, International Metropolitan on Nandan Dong Lu, Fountain Garden on Nandan Dong Lu. To find some, exit XJH station at exit 2. You can also look at Century Metropolis (aka Oriental Manhattan). |

The areas that line 1 travels through south of People's Square are Huangpu, Luwan, the sth/east area of Xu Hui and sth area called Xu Jia Hui. Ladoll, Park One and Park 8 are in the nth of Jing An area, close to line 2 which runs east/west. If you lived in that northern area you'd get the social life but not much joy getting to line 1.
I think the options that are close to social life as well as line 1 would be apartments either near Xin Tian Di area, close to People's Square (although apts are limited there) or apts near Shan Xi Nan/Chang Shi Rd station.
Heng Shan Rd area has good social life but limited local apartments like Park One etc. The more leafy part of the French Concession like Huai Hai Rd, Fuxing Xi Rd etc also have limited local apartments too and rentals are higher than the north part of Jing An or Xu Jia Hui.
Maestro2007 has covered a good selection of apts in the Xu Jia Hui area. That area is a far cry from the French concession as it has a large busy intersection but it has some well priced apartments and close access to good transport and shops.
